Professorial Assistantship
A limited number of international and home-schooling Honors College
invitees are selected after a thorough examination of their academic
achievements. Domestic students are also eligible for this scholarship,
but only if they have secured a GPA that ranks them in the top 5% of
their institutions’ applications to MSU. Professorial Assistants are paid a
stipend of about US$3,500 annually for working 8-10 hours per week
on faculty-mentored research or scholarly activity, which is renewable
for four semesters
Presidential Study Abroad Scholarship
This grant is awarded for use an MSU-sponsored or co-sponsored study
abroad program to international students outside of the United States.
The award value is US$3,000 up to US$5,000 depending on program
duration. The award must be used during the first eight semesters of an
undergraduate degree at MSU or before the undergraduate degree is
completed.
YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship
This undergraduate scholarship is given to a selected group
of international undergraduate students who show dedication to
spreading the #YouAreWelcomeHere message by overcoming
intercultural differences. It pays US$25,000 in tuition each year and can
be renewed each semester, for eight semesters. #YouAreWelcomeHere
Scholarship requires a separate application form. The International
Tuition Grant cannot be used in conjunction with this award.
How to apply?
To apply for Michigan State University International student
scholarships 2022, applicants must first apply for regular admission in
the university. Most of the scholarships consider the students
automatically for the scholarship. Eligible students will automatically be
considered for the scholarship.

separate application.
