The article titled as “Pentagon Again Suspends Large-Scale Military Exercises with
South Korea” which focuses on the military involvement in exercise of USA with South
Korea as it seems that the pentagon does not seem to approve it any longer, has been
published on “The New York Times” very recently. The famous American journalist who
is also a Pentagon correspondent for The New York Times is the author of this article
where she tries to give her thoughts on the order of Pentagon about this issue while
representing it on her article through elaborated description.
The article seems to be an expository essay where the author describes the order and
decision of pentagon and their previous actions regarding this issue, tries to persuade a
more logical point of view on it.
The article also shows the ongoing arguments between the defense department and the
presidential administration regarding the ‘military exercise’ between US and South Korea
while President Mr. Trump had nuclear talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un
which ended with no agreements between them. Author also argued that the decision to
formal suspension was much expected earlier as NBC News reported first. Bringing the
arguments, the author tries to elucidate the bad sides of the suspension. She also
highlighted the recent previous Trump and Defense secretary dispute and tried to portray
the condition.
