APA Format

APA internal documentation gives the author's last name and the date of the work in parentheses in
the text. A comma separates the author's name from the date (Pagel & Westerfelhaus, 1999). The
page number is given only for direct quotations (Katz, 1998, p. 74). If the author's name is used in
the sentence, only the date is given in parentheses. (See Figure 14.9.) A list of REFERENCES gives
the full bibliographic citation, arranging the entries alphabetically by the author's last name.
