The core idea for this project, is to enhance learners, to appreciate the use of information technology,
tools and knowledge in their learning, research and project works, while getting facilitation from their
teachers. In this we anticipate high performance and better work performance and ethic when they are
out of schools.
The main target audience, are school pupil from Primary On to Primary seven, Secondary school
students from Senior one to senior six. We have a complement of technical institute that will benefit for
this project too in their technical learning. Teaching staff are to be trained too, so as to facilitate the
teaching and learning.

Problem: Ugandan schools were sent home due to COVID-19. Schools have responded in various ways
such as using WhatsApp for discussions, printing holiday work and/uploading packages on their school
website. Whatsapp, while easy to communicate does not organize study effectively.
Nabisunsa Girls School set up a fully-fledged eLearning Platform where students work is uploaded. In its
45 days of existence, this platform has served over 7,000 students from different parts of Uganda, with
figures rapidly growing. While students are able to download holiday work, there is limited interaction
between the teacher and the learner oer the platform. We want to improve interaction and instruction.
These cannot easily be achieved because some students have limited skill since they are only recently
introduced to an eLearning Platform
The idea is to support students to use the Nabisunsa eLearning Platform for learning.
1) Provide Internet data to 8 teachers to be able to upload more notes and questions as well as attend
to students support learners
2) Develop 4 videos to guide students, parents, in using the platform and teachers to upload content
This project aims to create an online platform offer educational materials such as videos, lectures and
exams questions for secondary and primary school’s students in Libya. Those materials will help
students to self-study during the lockdown of schools. In addition, lessons and interactive activities will
be provided in the website. Furthermore, when students start go to school, teachers can use lesson’s
plans and class activities – which will be uploaded to the website-, that encourage cooperative learning,
develop critical thinking and STEM learning.
All materials will be available on a website ( e.g, www.imtihanat.ly). Students & teachers can download
it freely. Also, a soft copy will be distributed to the regional centers of partner organization that want to
cooperate with this project. This can beneficial for refugees and displaced students who do not have
internet access.
There are many educational materials on internet, but what we aim to offer is a series of coherent
interactive activities and videos Consistent with student’s book topics. Those material will help teachers
in classrooms or self-study at home.
We have questions bank based on MCQ that we will build intractive exams similar to Primary and
Secondary School Certificate Examination. This will encourage students visit the website and use other
useful materials as well.
We aim to expand the website to offer materials for all stages of education in primary and secondary,
not just the graduation stages.
The idea is to invest in a simple 3D printer (and material) and house it in Sutherland
Planetarium. The 3D printer will then be used to print face shield brackets that can be sold to the local
community at a fair price. This will help the planetarium staff to generate some sort of an income to
help with salaries. It will also provide the community with PPE at an fair price.
The fact that these face shields are produced locally by an 3D printer can also help to inspire the
local community. The Planetarium owner has experience in 3D printing and CAD design.
• Donations
Giving out stimulus package to residents, targeting at least 50 households. This would involve
food packs
We would be giving small bags of rice, small bags of beans, garri, bread, dry pepper.
Aerial City Nodes/Visualizations A tight mapping of city light pollution is often helpful for
understanding how much of star light can be seen in detail from the Urban environs. Studying city light
pollution entails understanding the distribution of city lights within metros such as Cape Town. This
distribution in turn maps out the movement of people in and out of cities via road/air travel which
correlates with the spread of pandemics. Generating aerial photography in this instance of city lights by
drone or any other means can serve as both inspiration for astronomy and studies in the spread of
pandemics such as Covid19

The central idea is to bring relevant discussions within Astronomy to teachers and students in
the public education system. As everyone is at home, due to social isolation, the target audience is quite
diverse. Therefore, this project was divided into 8 fronts, according to the target audience (please, the
numbers correspond to the fronts indicated in the item above, number 7).
The implementation plan consists of the elaboration of videos (in mp4 format), “lives” on social
networks and the elaboration of manuals (in pdf format) for teachers and students. Each activity will
address a specific topic and they all relate. In total, they are interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary and
multidisciplinary activities. Everything is done in order to encourage students’ creativity. For example,
we will talk about: microorganisms and the emergence of life on Earth;
we will discuss the philosophical impact of technology over long distances; we will cover
everything about the formation of telluric planets and the constitution of their atmosphere,
environmental impact, etc .This project is supported by the following Brazilian entities: ABP, FAPEAM,
MCTIC, CNPq, UEA, Planetarium Digital of Manaus and Parintins.
Our target audience will be school/college/university students along with general masses.
We will procure the basic items at first stage and will train a few students/researchers and
develop the programs , launch the website and social media campaign for marketing and start
broadcasting the programs.
Astro-Food Parcels
Delivery of Food Parcels and Astronomy booklets to Unemployed families and Grade 7 learners.
Grade 7 learners will study the booklets and will be given the test to write within 10 min. Parents will
receive their food Parcels.
ASTROKIDZ AT A DISTANCE
Project 2. The “AstroKidz at a Distance” project will give students and groups a real sense of
participation where they can ask questions via their own video selfie. At the AstroKidz observatory
(Observatorio Tagua Tagua, National Innovation Award Winner 2018) we will create a professional video
that answers their questions and includes their video selfies. This will no doubt be a lot of fun for
students of all ages, but most importantly it will be a very engaging and inspirational experience.
Project 3. Once schools begin to re-open there will of course be concerns to make sure the
establishment is properly disinfected. AstroKidz will take government approved disinfectant to schools
and set up entrance tunnels with nebulizers to spray the disinfectant on entry. This will be effective for
students and teachers and will ensure we can carry out of astronomy activities within schools, while at
the same time greatly reducing the risk of cross-contamination between students and teachers.
Health science as a subject is one of the compulsory subject students have to study in Nepal but
in very few cases we can find those hygiene being practiced. Students love activities and interactions
and this could be a right time when they could be taught how to practice what they have learnt. Thus I
would like to implement a project where students would learn how to keep themselves clean and
prevent viruses to spread while learning the very simple programming techniques and coding via online
courses (if lock down lengthens) and pass this cleanliness culture to their younger ones either in school
or home. This project would go for 3-4 months while targets especially on students and teachers as a
group of female head teachers had already been created by me last March who would like to partner
with us to practice healthy learning culture in their school .
As I’m doing my MPhil in STEAM education, this opportunity is going to be very important to me
as I am working on gender issues in STEAM while using Astronomy as my main tool. As I have been
conducting various programs with students from these marginalized community and working with them
had created a very good environment in couple of schools I’ve already been working with, I would like to
take tjis opportunity to reach to few more school where students would be working in their community
(marginalized) that would help them gain their confidence in coping with the world they generally fears
to cope with.
In case the lock down prolongs, students (13-14 y/o) would be given training via online along
with their corresponding teachers and they as a part of a project would be taking thing back to their
families and would send us a video report after completion of project when they would be receiving
prizes according to their work. This is focused because many people here are taking the situation lightly.
And even after the COVID-19, this would help them to prevents other diseases caused by
Viruses/Germs.
The central idea of the project is the dissemination of astronomical-scientific content, focused
on the history of the universe and, also to review the main milestones of science, and of the great
scientists and their discoveries. To accomplish this, the idea is to produce audiovisual capsules, with a
length of five minutes each, based on the theatrical show “Approaching the Universe”, created by
“Ñeque Theater Company”. The narrative language of these capsules, like the play, will feature music,
acting, object manipulation and audiovisual technology.
The target audience for this proposal will be familiar starting from the age of six.
The idea is to generate a work campaign, so that boys, girls, youth and adults, from the
Araucanía Region (southern Chile) become interested in astronomical content, in addition to preparing
them to witness the total solar eclipse, whose umbra may be witnessed from this region and from
southern Argentina, on December 14th, 2020.
Implementation:
Preproduction:
– Meetings with a network of enthusiastic scientists and consulting scientists from the Chilean
Astronomy Foundation, Fuchas.
– Adaptation of scenes from the show “Approaching the Universe” into audiovisual capsule
format.
– Essays
– The content of the script will be checked by the advising scientists of Fuchas, to make sure for
its scientific coherence.
Production:
– Edition.
– Distribution: A distribution of the audiovisual capsules will be carried out through digital
platforms; the websites of the Ñeque Teatral company and Chilean Foundation of Astronomy Fuchas.
Also through the YouTube channel TV Educa Chile, and social network associated with the foundation
and the theater company
The Covid-19 Pandemic is biting the hardest in the rural parts of Nigeria. Majority of these
people are feeling the pangs of hunger and poverty at these very strange times because of the lockdown
imposed by government, preventing them from accessing their means of daily livelihoods.
Most of these communities do not have access to constant water supply to be able to sustain
and adhere to the health advice of frequent hand washing. Sadly, their major concern at this time, is to
beat hunger and stay alive even as they hope the Covid-19 pandemic somehow spares them.
There is a very low rate of awareness on social and physical distancing as being a major means
of preventing community transmission of the Coronavirus. Nigeria now has over 3000 cases of infection,
even as health and government authorities decry the danger of community spreading of the virus. The
rates of new infections, since the first cases of community transmission was announced has been
unprecedented.
These are communities with very limited access to electricity and almost no access to internet
access. AWB Nigeria had carried out Astronomy outreaches, including the OAD supported Girls Camps in
these communities.
This project aims to raise awareness on preventing Covid-19 spread, create awareness about sky
gazing for kids and also provide relief materials to these communities in the form of grocery packages,
hand sanitizers, soaps among others. These would be donated to each of the community heads in the
name of OAD, and AWB Nigeria would be there to coordinate.
The idea is to keep the communities connected to Astronomy at this time, since these
communities would not have access to any form of online Astronomy activities. If we support them at
these trying times, in staying alive, it will go a long way to cement the relationship we have built in the
course of our Astronomy outreaches and to encourage the young ones to continue to participate in our
Astronomy outreaches once the pandemic is over.
Astro-online As a result of Covid-19 educational facilities have been closed and as a result
education has changed with distinctive rise in e-learning. The idea behind this project is to indulge and
engage every interested individual most especially students in astronomy using the internet, it aims at
educating people around this region about astronomy and engage them during this trying times. Also to
sensitise the general public about the Covid-19 pandemic and using astronomy to draw their attention
towards keeping safe during this period. it also creates a medium through which the students in this
region can engage themselves, share ideas, post pictures (moon, stars, crafts etc) while they stay at
home.
Audio books are to be used to cater to some of the indigent children from ages 6 to 12, who do
not have access to home schooling during this pandemic and no provision for online learning.
The kit contains a talking pen which is preloaded with English, Mathematics and language
lessons as well as folk stories. The lessons and are currently available for primary one (1), to primary
four (4) classes. The books for each lesson are purchased separately.
They audio learning kit works by tapping the pen to the audio activated book at the designated
spot, which activates the lesson in the pen and as the child follows the lessons on each page, the pen
reads out.
The audio learning kit will help in the current lockdown situation where most of the children in
public schools in Nigeria will most likely not have any form of formal education or any substitute for it,
while at home.
This also will tackle the difficult situation of learning while maintaining social distance.
The kids get their basic lessons at home and safe from getting infection from mixing up with
people outside of their homes.
They will be distributed house to house in the suburbs and a demonstration made for them to
understand how it works.
This project is based on cost effective and high quality making for wearing masks.
Currently, due to low quality masks Corona Virus 2109 and particle matter goes inside our lungs
which causes severe acute respiratory problems and this project concept overcome this problem.
COVID-19 infected area, healthcare professionals and all populations are targeted.
We have planned to manufacture in large scale after conducting first stage experiments in
laboratory.
Emmanuel talked to his former sponsor, now friend, about the struggle with what was in his
heart versus what his hands could do. His sponsor told a similar story. As a younger man, he realized
that he, alone, could not help those who needed it. But he could advocate for them to create a network
with others who, together, could change the world.
We are planning to distribute food parcels and establishing food gardens .focusing on the
elderly showing the young kids how to do garden as form of sustainability
Community rescue through mitigating the level of hunger The core project idea is
equipping the community most especially women and children with nutritional knowledge plus
providing hands-on skills related to Parma gardening in order to boost community immunity thus
achieving improved health and well-being of the community. Many people’s health are not improved
because of lack of knowledge. Thus, the need to train people on nutrition and have a demonstration
farm is the best way to go in order to have sustainable well improved health and food security in
community.
COMPARATIVE SURVEY BETWEEN RURAL AND URBAN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ON THE MAIN
CHALLENGES THEY ARE FACING WHILE AT HOME DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC Since the closing of
academic institutions including universities due to COVID-19 pandemic, some of discussions have been
on how to resume studies either by E-learning or any means but not physical interaction as used to be.
However no survey has been done on the current situation of our students while being at their
parent/guardian/private homes. It is important to know the current situation/s of students themselves
since they come from different corners and socioeconomic backgrounds within our country. Unless we
conduct a simple survey based on this, we will be ignoring basic aspect of caring clients, learners’
readiness and conducive environment for any form of teaching/learning. The project will involve
collecting some information such as his/her university registered, age, gender, year of study, degree
program, current place (rural/urban by name), activities being currently doing, main challenge he/she is
facing, how he/she reacts to COVID-19, what he/she has done to the family/society as an elite based on
COVID-19, his/her opinions/suggestions based on the current situation of closing the university due to
COVID-19 pandemic. Some of tools to be used are online interviews, questionnaires, video, focus group
discussions for those who are near the researcher while using healthy precautions. Pre-information will
be obtained from selected universities. Finally, all information will be collected, analyzed and presented
using statistical modes of presentation. The data will compare the situation between students in rural
and urban areas. These data will be used to create awareness to the educational stakeholders and the
public at large. The study will involve a sample of 1000 students from 27 universities in a reasonable
ratio depending on the population in a given university.
PROJECT SUMMARY
The coronavirus is now in our country with at least 189 confirmed infected and many more
under suspicion of being infected. Panic mainly due to lack of information is happening and with poor
health-care system and slow government response, there is a need for civil society to take part in the
education and knowledge-sharing campaign as well as provide immediate assistance to individuals who
show sign of being infected. The rapid spread of COVID 19 can be stopped. With this knowledge the
Nonprofit Tanzcare Aid Society Foundation is joining other global organizations to ensure we help all the
community’s most at risk. We work with remote and vulnerable communities in Tanzania with little to
no information and basic supplied to protect them from COVID19. Rural communities and informal
urban settlements are also not equipped to deal with the pandemic. With all disasters, the vulnerable
are always most at risk. We need to provide information, essential items and support to ensure the
communities we support are safe. The Project will construct 50 hand washing stations in Dar es Salaam
to help reduce the spread of Covid-19 and raise awareness on the importance of hand washing in
informal settlements. COVID-19 has been declared a world pandemic. It has already affected more than
200,000 people with many losing their lives.
SOLUTION
There is an urgent need to educate the public and provide relief support to those who is
suspected to be infected. Education about prevention and self-care is very urgent. Civil societies like
ourselves work in local communities and will be more effective in providing support to our constituents.
The project will construct hand washing stations in Dar es Salaam in addition to raising awareness on
Covid19. The hand washing stations will be made by locally assembled materials, equipped with water
and soap. The stations will be strategically constructed in places where there is overcrowding.
While COVID-19 pandemic spreads across the globe, schools in most countries of the world are
closed, a lot of schools engage in e-Learning which is effective in some way, but we are coming up with
this physical teaching and learning program to enable children of the poor who have no access to
electronic devices, internet facilities and even power supply and as such, cannot participate in e-
Learning, continue learning the core subjects in order not to be left out.
Venue
We will be using a big hall in one of the community schools which would allow for physical
distancing among the students.
Provision of face masks, hand sanitizers and hand washing facilities for the kids
• There are volunteer teachers who are willing to be part of this project
Volunteer AWB Nigeria teachers would be engaged and stipends paid for the period of the
project.
AWB Nigeria has promised to donate writing materials to the kids as well as stipends for the
volunteer Teachers. So, we would be giving free exercise books, pens, pencils etc to at least 50 students
We will provide snacks and water for the kids as many of their parents are struggling under the
huge economic burden of the Covid-19 lockdown. This would be served to them during break time.
Creation of “Teens in Astronomy club, Zimbabwe” . Due to The Covid 19 pandemic, about
500 children from the less privileged families in Budiriro ward 33, Harare are facing serious starvation
which needs urgent attention. The appreciation of Astronomy and understanding of its impact on socio
and economic development of Zimbabwe is very low in the less privileged communities mainly due to
lack of centers which provides information on astronomy and also a general phobia on STEM . It is
against this background that we wish to establish a feeding point in Budiriro ward 33 for the less
privileged children. Through this feeding point we aim to carry out an astrology awareness to these
children and motivate them to join the “Teens in Astronomy club Zimbabwe”. This club will focus on
educating teens on all aspects of Astronomy and organizing projects that will improve our communities
through astronomy. We wish to use Bernard Ganzwa’s house as the feeding point, For Awareness we
will use banners and a television set on the feeding point to show information on how to prevent the
spread of Covid 19 virus and also showing the influence of astronomy on our day to day lives. The
feeding point will serve lunch only on strictly takeaway basis, observing the national regulations on
social distancing restrictions. The feeding point will operate during this Covid 19 crisis and its our strong
belief that a vibrate astronomy club will be created and live long.
Development of a system to monitor health status of older people stuck at home during
lockdown
This project is solely developed to monitor the aged from 65 – 95 years old, targeting 25
households for a start.
Our team of 5 volunteers will cover one local community in the suburb of the Federal Capital
Territory (FCT) 2 times a week for 4 weeks.
We have a network of volunteers that will be trained, out of which 5 will go out to carry out this
checkup with their PPE for monitoring of the elderly within the local community. We will provide
facemask, soap and sanitizers, and also food items to sustain these participants for 4 weeks during this
lockdown time. This project is solely developed to monitor the aged from 65 – 95 years old, targeting 25

The health system is currently overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic and as such every other
health activities seem to be suffering due to this unexpected overstretches of the facilities and most
health workers are already at the frontline.
Our plan is to be mindful of the aged while easing some stress off the health workers.
Our team of 5 volunteers consists of a wide range of professionals most of whom we will train
via free online tools on how to carry out their duties.
Also they have access to nutritional advice and lifestyle recommendations that will help them
retain mental acuity, physical strength, heart health, mobility and fine motor coordination among many
other things.
To support rural learners in schools with hand sanitizers and masks. The masks will be printed
with astronomy related information and pictures.
Pamphlet with summary of grade 5-9 topics related to astronomy will be included to be
distributed to learners. These will cover the curriculum while they stay at home.
If they return to school a PowerPoint presentation and activities on the content Earth and
beyond.
The selected are schools that participated in the International Year of Astronomy (IYA)
activities.
This project will aim at providing data and mobile phones to female science high school students
and their teachers so that the learning process can remain ongoing among the students and also for the
students to continue their science projects during this period. This project also aims to make sure that
the girls gain information about COVID 19 in order to keep themselves and loved ones safe during this
period, the reason for this project is that most of the female students in these districts can not afford
data let alone mobile phones to gain this information especially on covid 19 and also to keep in touch
with their fellow students and teachers to learn and share ideas on their science projects and studies.
This will also help the girls access the learning material put on the internet by ministry of Education and
Sports in Uganda.
We will work in collaboration with schools to get to know girls from underprivileged homes who
can’t afford mobile data and mobile phones
We will also work together with online shopping and delivery companies to purchase and deliver
the mobile phones to the girls and teachers while keeping safe during this lockdown
We shall also follow up on the girls progress through video conferencing with the teachers and
girls and through online group discussions on zoom, whatsapp, one on one calls and texts

Our Application is as you know our country above 260 affected and 5 death peoples by covi-19.
covid-19 is pandemic and its dangerous disease. Enihofikir humanitarian and developmen torganization
ready to work about covid-19 crisis. Our organization goal is give facemask , sanitize ,alcohol , hand
washing soap to peoples and we make food bank to help poor peoples like pasta , macaroni ,rice ,
barley, wheat , oiletc until covid-19 over. it is difficult time for our population because mostly our
population are poor . we need emergency grant to help our population. Please support as our
organization. Thank you to read this applications due to keep your times.
Enhancing Education with Advanced Technology and Connectivity The project idea is to
invest in advanced technology, like telescopes, to enhance the practical learning aspect of our
curriculum and to build an interest in astronomy in our 800 young students who attend our Dhangada
school, which is the only Hoste Hainse school with Wifi. We will be pairing the telescopes to the
computers for a well-rounded and deep technological education. Once we have the computers and
telescopes ready, we will collaborate with the Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) to provide training to
the Hoste Hainse teachers. The teachers will then be able to run classes for their students. Our 3rd-10th
grade students will attend these lessons, which are to be held once a week. Through this project, we will
be able to give the students quality education that expands on their extensive theoretical knowledge.
The students will be utilizing manuals and videos to aid them in using the telescopes. They will also be
experimenting with different computer science softwares, mapping programs, and more. They have
spent their lives simply learning from books, but this will allow the students to understand, experience,
and analyze the celestial bodies with their own eyes and hands.
Enhancing Menstrual Health among Rural ommunitis in Kisoro District and Neighborhood
Female students face great challenges in terms of hygiene and sanitation. For girls who are
menstruating, these problems are compound of the difficulties posed by the inability to afford sanitary
towels as well as cultural taboos around menstruation. As a result, many girls miss on average four days
of school every month which is over a month in a year, meaning their performance in class is affected
and sometimes even drop out of school all together. This is an added challenge that lead to the high
dropout rate of female students in primary and secondary schools.
Problem: Ugandan schools were sent home due to COVID-19. Schools have responded in various
ways such as using WhatsApp for discussions, printing holiday work and/uploading packages on their
school website. Whatsapp, while easy to communicate does not organize study effectively.
Nabisunsa Girls School set up a fully-fledged eLearning Platform where students work is
uploaded. In its 45 days of existence, this platform has served over 7,000 students from different parts
of Uganda, with figures rapidly growing. While students are able to download holiday work, there is
limited interaction between the teacher and the learner oer the platform. We want to improve
interaction and instruction. These cannot easily be achieved because some students have limited skill
since they are only recently introduced to an eLearning Platform
The idea is to support students to use the Nabisunsa eLearning Platform for learning.
1) Provide Internet data to 8 teachers to be able to upload more notes and questions as well as
attend to students support learners
2) Develop 4 videos to guide students, parents, in using the platform and teachers to upload
content
From Blanket food distribution to Elctronic Food Voucer Blanket Food distribution is among the
interventions the government and other institutions are using to buffer low income, marginalized, and
vulnerable populations from hunger during the hard economic times. However, Distribution sites have
been identified as a hotpots for coronavirus spread. This is because there is a clear lack of appropriate
measures that have been put in place to protect the beneficiaries. There has been a clear lack of social
distancing enforcement, hand-washing stations, and crowd control mechanism during blanket food
distribution exercises. Besides, there have also been a lot of fraud cases in food distribution. The main
project idea is to develop an Electronic Food Voucher system to support food assistance by government
and NGOs. The target audience for the project is population in informal settlements and local food
vendors. The Electronic Food voucher platform shall be made available to organizations providing food
aid. The platform shall manage beneficiaries data and track redemption process. Beneficiaries will be
able to receive a unique SMS code on their phones and redeem with the local vendor they will be
directed to. The Electronic Food Voucher SMS shall be part of a larger package of COVID-19 awareness
communication, delivered to beneficiaries. As result, physical distancing will betaken seriously. White
circles drawn on the ground delineate the waiting spots in front of shops, people wear face masks and
frequently wash and sanitize their hands.
I plan to equally provide some families with some. I want to give a bag of rice some other non
perishable food to about 100 homes. I will invite some friends from astronomy club in cameroon to help
me distribute these items.
Helping Teachers to Use Open Discussion Forums E-Learning Infrastructure to Teach Physics and
Mathematics to High School Students
In the light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, switching to online platforms would help to
combat the scourge by maintaining social distancing since person-to-person physical interactions would
be minimized. I would like to train a few select high school physics and mathematics teachers on how to
prepare and deliver lessons via TSSFL ODF. These subjects directly contribute to astronomy for
development goals since they are the foundations of applied sciences and technologies which greatly
impact everyday societal transformations for sustainable development.
ODF provides an environment in which all important aspects of the various forms of technology-
assisted learning can be seamlessly achieved. The platform offers cohesive and effective STEAM teaching
opportunities (by recognizing the intersections of art, science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics) to deal with the current reality, however, motivating and contributing to the significant
problem-solving skills, innovations, and preparedness towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Specifically:
1) Teaching using TSSFL ODF infrastructure will reduce costs and increase performance by
offering anytime, anywhere distributed learning opportunities. Actually, the forum makes it possible for
a single instructor to teach a certain course to students situated in multiple schools. With TSSFL ODF,
collaborative planning, teaching, and learning management are very convenient.
2) TSSFL ODF will digitally offer a high-quality e-learning environment to foster and aspire
learning transactions in a consistent and reliable fashion toward an efficient, effective, appealing,
engaging, and inspiring acquisition of knowledge.
The delivered materials will be publicly accessible, and it is my hope that this project will
stimulate and establish an impactful take-off of technology-assisted learning in Tanzania and Africa in
general in order to make it a standard model in our learning institutions.
Impact of COVID-19 on educational sector
As the whole world is badly suffering from COVID-19, we planned to do a survey on impact of
COVID-19 on different socio- economic factor and planing for awareness activities. For this we take
Mahendra Bhrikuti Secondary school (community school) as a focal point and its catchment area is main
survey area. we are giving maximum priority to a school because if we educate a student he/she will
educate whole society.
As mentioned above Mahendra Bhrikuti is a focal point of this program, main target group is
students, parents and the society which belongs to this school i.e.around 1000 families of Lalitpur
Municipality ward no. 13 will be the targeted group of this survey.
The result of any plan is depends upon its implementation. To make a effective survey which
may be fruitfull for authorised agencies school will fully support this program for various information
regarding to students, parents and other society members. Capable And well experienced teaching staff
of Mahendra Bhrikuti will Participate in this program, which will be key for sucess.
After the completion of survey we will also conduct awareness activities by using different tools
of ICT, poster, pumplets which make the people aware from COVID-19.
We also hope the survey and report of this project will be beneficial for local government for
their planning.
This project will introduce an online application and record management system at National
Teachers’ College, Kaliro. The prospective students, college leadership, staff and partners will benefit
from this project; taking full advantage of technology. Our ultimate goal is to enhance efficiency in the
management of students’ records. Therefore:
Step 1: Commissioning of the Project. The first step in achieving the project goal is by identifying
at least 5 staff with strong analytical and documentation skills. The team will include a senior manager
and some other staff passionate of digitization in NTC Kaliro.
Step 2: Selection of service provider. The appointed team will liaise with the concerned
committee at College to solicit and identify a reliable service provider.
Step 3: Needs assessment .This will mean the service provider coming up with system
requirements with the assistance of the project team. The information contained in the needs
assessment report will be used by the service provider for developing a prototype of the system.
Step 4: Registering the sub-domain name and paying for hosting. The domain name could be
www.admissions.kaliro.ac.ug. By registering this domain name, the service provider will be kept on its
toes and thus working with the end in mind.
Step 5: Testing. Once the prototype is out, it will be tested. Testing is done to ensure that it is as
effective as it is envisaged to be. In case the system has any bugs, it will be debugged.
Step 6: Going Live. Once bugs have been fixed in the prototype, it will be deployed for the
consumption of the target group. To that effect a press release will be published and the application link
publicized on the College website and social media.
Step 7: Maintenance. Maintaining the system as well as the website once it is up and running is
a longer-term challenge. The website will require to be updated on a regular and timely basis. This
website will be managed by a designated and committed ICT
This project aims to create an online platform offer educational materials such as videos,
lectures and exams questions for secondary and primary school’s students in Libya. Those materials will
help students to self-study during the lockdown of schools. In addition, lessons and interactive activities
will be provided in the website. Furthermore, when students start go to school, teachers can use
lesson’s plans and class activities – which will be uploaded to the website-, that encourage cooperative
learning, develop critical thinking and STEM learning.
All materials will be available on a website ( e.g, www.imtihanat.ly). Students & teachers can
download it freely. Also, a soft copy will be distributed to the regional centers of partner organization
that want to cooperate with this project. This can beneficial for refugees and displaced students who do
not have internet access.
There are many educational materials on internet, but what we aim to offer is a series of
coherent interactive activities and videos Consistent with student’s book topics. Those material will help
teachers in classrooms or self-study at home.
We have questions bank based on MCQ that we will build intractive exams similar to Primary
and Secondary School Certificate Examination. This will encourage students visit the website and use
other useful materials as well.
We aim to expand the website to offer materials for all stages of education in primary and
secondary, not just the graduation stages.

Kitchen Garden Project This project will set up kitchen gardens at 20 households of elderly
people. The vulnerable beneficiaries and their caregivers will be identified with the help of local council
leaders. Thereafter, the community leaders and the beneficiary households will be sensitized about
kitchen gardening and the benefits which come with it as well as their role in ensuring its success. The
agricultural inputs like seeds, fertilizers, sacks and garden tools will be purchased and supplied to the
households. The project officer will liaise with community leaders to set up and monitor kitchen gardens
at each household.
Knowledge in minutes Because of the spread of lies and hooligans related to space sciences on
social media and other websites in the middle east by those who are not specialized, I would like to
create a YouTube channel to address most of the fallacies which face Arab societies. My scientific career
qualifies me to give the public, who speak Arabic, correct and valuable information in the Astronomy
field with scientific references since I am a Jordanian Ph.D. student at the Astronomy Department at
Eötvös Loránd University in my third year. The aim of the project is to create a conscious generation
capable of differentiating between real scientific content and deceptive content. I would start with short
videos but valuable and not boring.
Covid-19 has resulted to a lot of challenges including loss of opportunity for children to study.
Most children are at home now. Not all parents/guardians can teach or even emphasize their children
based on education. This is because some parents/guardians are busy with the day to day
socioeconomic activities. Children are left with only house maids who are busy with extra domestic
works.
They will explore nature and enjoy it. Using their parents’mobile phones, the project will
organize some digital learning via whatAp, messenger, Skype, planetarium software, video, direct
calls and the like. Lectures will be given and questions given.
Children will post some related pictures e.g the sun, planet, moon. A link of whatAp will be
created to register for online classroom. The project will educate, inspire, motivate and create studying
skills and methods related to astronomy. It will in one way meet the need of parents to see their
children studying while at home. The project is assumed to trend for at least two months. However,
with funds available later on, the project may be extended for every vacation when children are back
for holidays.
COVID-19 has sent a strong signal that humanity has fallen out of balance with Mother Nature,
especially the animal kingdom.
Many stellar objects, constellations and asterisms are named after animals both in European
and Indian languages. For eg. Aries-Winged ram, Pisces- Fish, Leo-Lion, Taurus-Bull, Cancer-Crab,
Scorpio- Scorpion etc.
We are also aware of naming at least three galaxies and six nebulae named after warm blooded
vertebrates, including Horsehead nebula, Cat’s Paw Manatee, Squid Nebula etc.
Aquila constellation is sometimes associated with the eagle that held Zeus. Bootes is one of the
ancient Greek constellations meaning ‘the oxen-driver’.Camelopardalis is another constellation meaning
Giraffe. Canis Major one of the Greek consteallations which represents Bigger Dog.
From time immemorial, we have been giving importance to ‘Game sanctuaries (protected
animal bastion)’, ‘Devarakadu’ which is plant and animal life totally untouched by humans.
This reminds us of the animal kingdom of our planet and the importance of respecting them.
But man’s greed has made him cross all these barriers for his selfish needs. He kills animals of all
kinds and enjoys them as food. In the recent times he has been ruthless in feeding himself with such
dangerous and wet species that has caused health hazards and led to dangerous virus spread leading to
pandemic situation namely Covid-19.
Time has come to create and awareness in people’s minds to limit ourselves when dealing with
animals and keep ourselves in safer limits.
Astronomy plays a key role in bringing about the healthy practices as it is more accessible to
people of all ages especially children. It is used as a tool to achieve this goal.
This will be an outreach program for increasing people’s awareness of the role humans play and
the responsibility we hold towards Mother Nature using Astronomy
Lunar Caravan
“Lunar Caravan” will connect the general public to various scientific and aesthetic experiences
and highlight the integration that is taking place in the understanding of humanity as a planetary
community through process and research practices.
It will be led by an international team of artists, scientists and administrators and individuals and
groups throughout the world can participate regardless of age or demographic association.
The project will focus on the myriad circumstances that affect viewing our natural satellite in
rural and urban environments: the cycles of the Moon itself and our proximity to it, what natural or
man-made obstacles prevent us from full sight access, the effects of light pollution in different locations,
the presence (or lack thereof) of clouds, varying weather patterns, fires, etc.
The main focus of the work is both the research and experiential process of creativity that the
viewer engages in. Establishing a number of interactions across arts and sciences that build on our
experiences of the world, is not only paramount to the success of the project, but is also very important
to us as project founders.
Over the duration of two months, participants in/from various locations will create a journal:
gathering data and participating in both individual and collaborative artistic and scientific exercises and
activities centered around their experiences of and with the Moon. The participant will share basic
biographical, geographical and demographic information to allow for project organizers to collate.
Journals will be arranged in a data visualization fashion around each task and data collected will
then be compared, contrasted and analyzed as a collective. Various activities and exercises will be
directly related to astronomical events occurring globally, including moon phases, eclipses and other
significant/notable occurrences.
Mass Production of Safe and Reusable Fabric Face Masks for 500 Rural Women
This project aims to provide safe and reusable Fabric face masks for 500 less privileged women
in Ekiti State, Nigeria. With Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for face masks has skyrocketed and sadly,
this has led to a soar in the retail prices of all types of face masks. These prices are way beyond the
reach of an average woman in the rural parts of Nigeria. Since the country started battling community
spread of Covid-19, it is highly imperative that common people on the street wear face masks in order to
help reduce the spread of Covid-19.
Also, in recent times, the high demand for face masks has led to a depletion of Hospital grade
Face masks such as the N95 Face Masks, which should have been left for the frontline health workers’
use.
As a Fashion Entrepreneur, based in Ekiti State, my firm has been into the design and production
of very safe and reusable fabric face masks which have been hailed to be very effective in curbing the
spread of Covid-19.
I am able to produce 500 face masks to be distributed to 500 less privileged women across Ekiti
State. This will go a long way to help reduce the community spread of Covid-19 as well as reduce the
strain on the hospital grade face masks, thereby, safeguarding the health and lives of our fearless
frontline health workers.
I am an Astronomy enthusiast, and as such, I derive my inspiration for this project from the
commendable act of OAD in providing help during this Covid-19 pandemic across the world at a time like
this. This effort will project the OAD as being in the fore front in global provision of relief to the less
privileged. There will be data and video report of the distribution of the face masks and a talk on OAD as
the sole sponsor of this very commendable effort in Ekiti State.
Multi-Patient Ventilation System The corona virus pandemic (covid-19) has shaken up our
world in a way we’ve never seen before. While the scientific community is trying their best in finding a
vaccine, we as a group of engineers has been working on a prototype which helps on treatment of covid-
19 patients.
Nkeva Connect
Overcrowding in small town is a risk to the lives of the people who have to visit these congested
village centers and conduct their business. Decentralizing online services and skills workshops by
bringing them into the community will reduce the risk of exposure. Job hunting is the main activity for
many and sending/receiving emails is still a challenge, although they have smart devices in some cases.
We will have an cyber center with well spaced out cubicles with computers. We will offer access for
community members to these online services.
Many have lost jobs as a direct consequence of COVID-19, for them the cyber center will be a
platform to explore the online world and discover tools to upskill themselves in order to take advantage
of the opportunities that come with every disaster.
In addition to the online services offered to keep the lights on through, printing binding internet
services etc. We will facilitate groups of 20 participants and introduce online learning. We will split them
into groups and they will work on a programming/coding project. This will introduce them over a day to
basic html/css/sql/php concepts and hopefully inspire the community members to continues to create
tools that will benefit not only on the day. The 20 will be made up of four people from each of the
wards. All the protocols that will protect the facilitators and participants from COVID-19 will be
observed. We will have sanitizer at arms reach. all work stations will be adequately spaced. Those in
groups will be sharing screens but not any of the components that will be used. All equipment and
surfaces will be kept sanitized. There is a 14 primary schools, 7 high schools and a TVET college within a
20km radius from our premises. These learners and students will benefit greatly to an introduction to
coding that will give them an edge in their career choices in the 4IR.
Nkomazi Mathematics and Science Centre We are identifying and nurturing young
people’s talent and potential in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) by
conducting advocacy campaigns, both in primary and secondary schools, motivating and encouraging
learners to participate in Mathematics and Science competitions like Olympiads, quizzes etc to test
learner’s basic knowledge in MST subjects and award prizes to learners showing excellent knowledge of
their subjects. We are promoting science literacy among the youth and the population in general by
encouraging the youth to participate in projects like Science Expo, Aqua Enduro, Scientific debates etc.
and also participate in NSW activities by engaging the public on issues involving science in their
immediate communities. We are enhancing learner participation and performance in STEM by
conducting both recommended and prescribed experiments for both learners and educators and also
revise previous question papers. We are also providing young people with career education, particularly
related to STEM by inviting captains or managers of industries from the local community to talk about
their STEM related careers and bursary opportunities and also do industrial site visits.
OAD Extruding Machine – Recycling waste plastic Waste plastic is a golden oppertunity.
By up-cycling plastic the impact on the enviroment is lessened, as plastic is removed from the waste
stream, The injection moulding machine are typical used to manufacture from 3d-printer filament to
structural beams.
OAD Shredding Machine – Recycling waste plastic The Precious Plastics based shredder is
used to prepare recycled plastic for further processing. The target audience is SAAO personnel and
schools. The open source plan’s need to be ammended to South African sourced material (thickness of
SS plate).
The project has designed to address the socio-economy in the COVID-19 scenario.
3D printing for light fixtures: Pakistan, like other developing countries, is way too much effected
via COVID-19 than developed countries, and the lockdown has destroyed most of the lighting industry in
Pakistan, and this is a right time to introduce light pollution awareness in the city like Karachi famous as
(The City of Lights) with practical products which can help in reducing light pollution, to the masses. In
the project, 3D printers will produce light fixtures ideally shielded designed to minimize light pollution
for low-income people to sell them at local communities more specifically, the low life area and slums of
the city like Karachi. This will not only create some job opportunities but also, will introduce new
technology to the masses and the government to adopt for the future.
I intend to make a video entitled Our Home in Space – this will help children and whoever
watches it understand some fundamentals about our Planet Earth. Our place on the Earth, and how that
makes everyone Special. Our place in the solar system, and its origin. We have a duty of care to our
home in space, to each other and to all the creatures we share this planet with. We need to strive to be
the best we can be. Educate ourselves and others about our special home.
The video will be simple, involving me drawing and at the same time telling the story of our solar
system. The Earths place within it, how unique and special our home actually is.
The video will encourage watchers to draw our sun and our planet in space. Relate our sun to
the food we eat, the beauty of the world, the gift the sun / Earth system gives us every day of our lives.
When our star “The Sun” was born that was the beginning of the potential for humans to exist.
Over millennia the galaxy we now live in evolved. Millions of years passed before we became a viable
species. Now we are here and have been for a very long time. Except we seem to have forgotten how to
be in harmony with the planet and the star that gives us life. A focus on the Earth and what it offers us
for all our lives. Air, Water, Energy, Beauty, Peace, Inspiration, Relaxation. All without a spacesuit or
special living equipment until 2020.
PICTOR is an open-source radio telescope that allows anyone to observe the radio sky, using its
convenient web platform for free. It consists of a 1.5-meter parabolic antenna that allows anyone to
make continuous and spectral (i.e. hydrogen line) drift-scan observations of the radio sky in the
1300~1700 MHz regime for free, without any registration or exposure to advertisements.
While PICTOR is currently intended for observing the 21 cm hydrogen line and detecting unique
spiral arms in our galaxy, we hope to expand its capabilities in terms of hardware, so that it can detect
other interesting celestial objects of the radio sky, including pulsars.
Poultry seed Project under Mgahinga Seed Multiplication Farm Poultry Seed Project is a
community based project that was conceptualized by three passionate, committed and enthusiastic
social entrepreneurs. The project was set up to promote the creation of jobs, women and youth
empowerment, economic development and poverty alleviation. It features key stakeholders such as the
youth and women, members and workers of the project, customers, suppliers and the wider
community. The project will specialize in the production and sale of eggs and for meat. The project
essentially purchases ‘ready to lay’ pullets and are raised through their productive cycle. Since the
project is underway we intend to scale it up for big harvest.
Presently, the COVID-19 Pandemic outbreak has affected schools in Uganda and the number of
affected students stands at 15 million, the highest on the east African region. We intend to reach 114
institutions in the area to ensure that the spread of the pandemic is contained among the institutions
through the provision of hand washing or PPE to those institutions
Project plan
1. Visiting the institutions informing them on what we intend to do in order to contain the virus
spread and taking not of the number of person in the institution.
2. Procurement, delivery and installation of the PPEs to institutions, teaching and demonstrating
out on handling of the PPEs by the students and person around the institutions.
3. Checking on institutions to ensure that there are sufficient PPEs in the institutions for the
persons there
Preventing corona virus in Cameroon This project is aim at helping farmer in the village of
kumbo ,be aware of the dangers of covid 19 and how to prevent it spread
Preventing the spread of corona virus through sensitizing The project is aim at sensitising
the population of the danger of covid 18,and how it can be prevented, with material like soap and hand
sensitiser distributed to the population
Target audience
This project focuses on students, teachers and administrative staff of the Government Bilingual
High School (GBHS) of Missolé region (Littoral-Cameroon)
Implementation plan
-1st phase: Equipment acquisition: hand washing stations, Personal Protective Equipment
(masks, hand sanitizers), flyers
-2nd phase: sensibilization (conferences in classrooms on the importance of astronomy for our
country development and the impact of covid-19) and distribution of the equipment
Providing effective and efficient information to curve the spread and the effects of Covid-19
pandemic on the Karamojong pastoralists Fighting the Covid-19 pandemic is dependable on the
quality of information given to the masses. Much as the country has tasks Force at all levels, from
national to sub county, many pastoralists and the entire community of Karamoja are yet to get more
information on Covid-19. This has motivated me to close the gap through giving information on radios,
public address systems, flyers, billboards, social media etc. I intend to buy FM radios to the pastoralists
to first hand information through the radio stations. The business community need not to run out of
business, I intend to share with them how to cope up with the pandemic during and after the lockdown.
Given my background in Business Administration, I am convinced I will rescue my people out of the
situation
Providing Hand washing facilities and Personal Protective Equipments to schools and
Universities which are operating/about to operate
This project will target students, teachers and the local communities.
Well, the students here in Uganda are in the lock down and are expected to report very soon.
However, the facilities for protecting them are not in place.
Take an example of hand washing facilities, we don’t have any school with the facilitates that
will help the students on their arrival.
we also have to provide the personal protective equipments to the teachers and the non
teaching staff in order to avoid the spread of the pandemic.
Providing mobile data for teachers (Part A) and Providing hand – washing stations in schools
(Part B)
We want to encourage students from both public and private schools and all grades to develop
good hand-washing habits and good hygiene, to help stop/reduce the spread of the coronavirus in
Ghana. In addition, we intend to provide free internet access to teachers to aid them in their
preparation for school after the pandemic (when schools reopen in the country).
Core Project Idea and Target Audience: To promote hand-washing practices among students and
teachers in basic and high schools in the greater Accra region of Ghana and to inspire teachers to
conduct research by providing them with internet access.
Execution and Implementation: we are already in contact with teachers in some schools in Accra
(7 schools-schools that were involved in the IAU schools project-most are public schools, including a deaf
school) and their school heads. The schools have been informed about our intended project. They are
excited about our proposal(survey link:https://forms.gle/vAgRygw1kQ1axAXT8 ), and believe it will aid
in teaching and learning, once school reopen.
We will draw up a schedule of implementation of hand-washing stations with government
advice prior to reopening of schools in the country. Once the hand-washing stations are implemented,
we will hold a short session on the proper washing of hands and some basic hygiene practices. The
patrons of the past project (IAU Astronomy club) have agreed to act as overseers of the hand washing
stations, ensure the proper use and maintenance of the stations and also monitor the use of the hand-
washing accessories. Most teachers have either laptops/mobile phones, so we intend to work with a
mobile telecommunication network, say MTN Ghana; purchase a data package for teachers (for research
etc). A monthly feedback form will be developed; to assess the usage of the mobile data and also find
out how access to internet has impacted their teaching.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected educational systems worldwide, leading to the near-total closures
of schools, universities and colleges.
In the article by Dr Tawanda Chingozha,” Rethinking our future- Understanding the economic and social
impacts of Covid 19” (UNDESA) webinar he points out that, As governments mull how best to save the
academic year for pupils, some have advocated for continued and wide scale online schooling for
learners – yet the majority of schools may not have the required technological facilities. Inequality does
not only exist laterally across schools as some students may not have computers, phones and even an
internet connection at home.
The above situation is similar to Uganda’s situation. Although the minister of education announced an
impressive innovation of on line lesson delivery, not many students have accessed and benefited from
the program due the lack of technological equipment and internet data and electricity in the rural
areas..
The Minister of education and sports recently called upon all stake holders to support in the supply of
reading materials to all students as government has not supplied 100%.
The independent newspaper quotes that learning materials that had been supplied are inadequate in
relation to the large number of learners. Even the district does not have a budget to facilitate
distribution.
So I wish fill the gap by supplying 3000 hard copy materials to secondary students S1-6 without access to
internet in the districts of Ngora, Kumi and Bukedea not served by the ministry of education and sports
to keep the students’ mental health in balance.
I have the soft copy of the National Curriculum Development Council material so I will print/photocopy
and supply. This will be done in two weeks.
I will work with the Ngora District Covid 19 logistical task force on education committee to safely supply
study materials to all the targeted students so that they stay home and study safe .
