Well Test Analysis (PETE 4225) Final Examination (Open Notes - Closed Book) Date: Wednesday, December 9, 2020 Duration: 2 Hours (8:00 Am - 10:00 Am)

This document provides instructions and problems for a well test analysis final exam. Problem 1 asks students to analyze pressure buildup test data from an oil well to determine key parameters like the end of wellbore storage and slope of the semilog straight line. Problem 2 involves estimating permeability and skin from injection test data. Problem 3 analyzes an injection pulse test between two wells. Problem 4 involves identifying flow regimes and determining permeability from pressure transient data from a horizontal well drawdown test.

the following rock and fluid properties, estimate permeability and skin factor from the injection
test data.

Problem 3 (20 POINTS)
An injection pulse test was conducted between two wells in an aquifer to confirm available well
logging and geological data. Pressure was recorded in an observation well 200 ft apart and
shown in the following table. Given the following information, estimate k and ct based on
interpretation of the 1st shut in pulse (2nd pulse).
B = 1 bbl/STB; h = 20 ft; q = 75 STB/day;
μ = 1 cp; rw = 0.3 ft.
