Pattern Mapping Employs Image Processing and Syntactic Pattern Recognition Principles To Recognize A Known Pattern Before and After Motion

The document discusses using mapping and pattern recognition principles to recognize known patterns before and after motion. It discusses how pattern recognition uses machine learning algorithms to automatically recognize patterns in data like text, images, sounds. Statistical approaches are appropriate for remote sensing data analysis as they can uncover patterns and trends in the data and provide insights.

Mapping For Pattern Recognition

Mapping for Pattern Recognition employs image processing and syntactic

pattern recognition principles to recognize a known pattern before and after
motion.
Pattern recognition is the ability to detect arrangements of characteristics or data
that yield information about a given system or data set. In a technological
context, a pattern might be recurring sequences of data over time that can be used
to predict trends, particular configurations of features in images that identify
objects
Pattern recognition is a data analysis method that uses machine learning
algorithms to automatically recognize patterns and regularities in data. This
data can be anything from text and images to sounds or other definable qualities.
Pattern recognition systems can recognize familiar patterns quickly and accurately.
Pattern recognition plays a central role in numerically oriented remote sensing
systems. It provides an automatic procedure for deciding to which class any
given ground resolu- tion element should be assigned. The assignment is made
in such a manner that on the average correct classification is achieved.

REASONS WHY A STATISTICAL APPROACH IS APPROPRIATE IN

APPLYING PATTERN RECORGNITION FOR REMOTE SENSING DATA
ANALYSIS

The value of remote sensing as a source of information on the environment is,

however, sometimes limited by the image analysis techniques used. Traditionally,
statistical techniques have been used widely in the analysis of remotely sensed
data.
Since Remote sensing is a technique used to collect data about the earth without
taking a physical sample of the earth’s surface. Therefore, for pattern recognition
to be perfected, a statistical approach is highly needed for the following reasons to:

PROVIDES DIFFERENT WAYS TO ASSESS THE ROBUSTNESS OF

RESEARCH OUTPUTS:

Statistical methods are mathematical formulas, models, and techniques that are
used in statistical analysis of raw research data. The application of statistical
methods extracts information from research data and provides different ways to
assess the robustness of research outputs.

TO UNCOVER PATTERNS AND TRENDS:

It all comes down to using the right methods for statistical analysis, which is how
we process and collect samples of data to uncover patterns and trends. For this
analysis, there are five to choose from:
mean,
standard deviation,
regression,
hypothesis testing,
and sample size determination.
PROVIDING INSIGHTS ABOUT DATA:
Even simple statistical techniques are helpful in providing insights about data.
For example, statistical techniques such as extreme values, mean, median, standard
deviations, interquartile ranges, and distance formulas are useful in exploring,
summarizing, and visualizing data
