Quick Installation Instructions

for Software Licence Keys
This guide provides instructions to configure a license server to use Atoll with a software license key.

 When installing a new license server on a virtual machine, it is recommended to use

a dedicated instance that is permanently configured. The license system can be
invalidated when a virtual machine is reconfigured (CPU, RAM…)

Ensure that the computer that runs the license server complies with the following minimum requirements:

CPU RAM Operating System Connectivity Storage

Core i5/i7/i9/ Xeon 2 GB Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 1 Gigabit Ethernet 46 GB (System)

(Haswell generation or later) Windows Server 2012 R2 10 Gigabit Ethernet
1 core or vCPU Windows Server 2016

For more information about license management, see the technical note TN058: License Management for Software License Keys.

Step 1: Installing Drivers and Software

To install the software license tools:

1. Download and unpack the Software License Key Activation Kit from the Forsk Downloads web site on the computer that will
host the license server: https://downloads.forsk.com/softlic
2. In the Windows Start menu, locate the Command Prompt or type cmd.
3. Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
4. Type haspdinst -i in the command line. A message is displayed informing you that the Sentinel LDK Run-time Environment was
successfully installed.
5. Type HASPUserSetup.exe and follow the instructions provided by the program.

Step 2: Getting the License Machine Signature

A customer-to-vendor (C2V) file contains the hardware fingerprint that allows Forsk to generate a vendor-to-customer (V2C) for your
software license key.
To generate a C2V file:
1. Run the RUS_Atoll.exe utility on the computer where you want to set or update your software license.
2. In the RUS utility, select the Collect Status Information tab and select Installation of a New Protection Key.
3. Click Collect Information.
4. Specify the location where you want to save the C2V file. Enter a file name and click Save.
5. Send the C2V file to your Forsk representative to obtain a V2C file.

Step 3: Applying the License File

The vendor-to-customer (V2C) is provided by Forsk and is required to activate your protection key.
To apply the V2C file to your protection key:
1. Copy the V2C file to the computer that is running the license server.
2. Enter the URL of the License Management Console into a web browser: http://localhost:1947
3. Select Update/Attach in the left hand-side options panel.
4. Click Choose file and select the V2C file.
5. Click Apply file to activate the license.
6. Click Sentinel Keys in the menu on the left. A key should be visible on the "Local” server.
