Welcome to Grade 5!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am pleased to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year at DSC! My name is Ms. Lake and I
will be your child’s homeroom teacher in 5-4 for this school year. This is going to be a fun and
exciting academic year of learning, and I am looking forward to getting to know you and your
child!

Please take a moment to review the following. This information will help us have a great start
to the school year.

Google Classroom
Your child will be accessing all of their class information and work through Google
Classroom.
They will access this information using their Delia email address and password.
For example: Username: [email protected] password: 00000
Information you will find on Google Classroom:
Homeroom news and information
Separate subject classrooms with assignments, resources and rubrics

Class Website:
Our class will have its own website with helpful information for both you and your
parents. Here are some things you will find on it:

Supplies Given By the School
Loaned Textbooks, Math Workbook, Novels (Holes and Wonder), Notebooks
Stationery (scissors, coloured pencils, glue, ruler, pencil, eraser)
Reusable canvas bag

Materials to Bring Everyday:


Laptop with charger (HK Plug)
Earphones
Lunch and Water

Recycled Materials:
Throughout the school year, we will be doing STEAM activities. A
variety of recycled/used materials from home may be useful for these
activities. For example:

empty toilet paper rolls


empty water bottles
old boxes/cardboard

When we are approaching an activity where these materials would be


useful, I will let you know. If you are able to send some in with your
child, we will share them with the class.
