Worship
Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your
life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor
about your body, what you will put on. Is not life
more than food and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow
nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly
Father feeds them. Are you not of more value
than they?
Matthew 6:25-26
What is
Tithing?
Tithing
Definition: A tenth, a
portion set aside to give
back to God
Tithing is an act of worship. It is an
expression of the heart, that we trust
God with our finances.
Why do we
Tithe?
Act of Obedience
God says in His written word that we are to
honor Him with the first fruits of our
MONEY, TIME and RESOURCES.
Honor the LORD with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
then your barns will be filled to
overflowing, and your vats will brim
over with new wine.
PROVERBS 3:9-10
Act of Worship
Tithing is not as easy as it seems. God’s
desire is not for every Christian just to give
ten percent of their earnings, and check it
off their “to do list.” He wants our heart to be
in the right place. In essence it is an act of
worship and thanksgiving for all God has
done for us.
You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring
it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken
and contrite heart.
PSALM 51:16-17
God is the provider of everything, and will supply all our
needs. So what is holding us back from honoring God
with our money, time and resources?
