groupmates until it reach the very last student in
the line. The last student shall run to the board
and write the message to it. The first group who
will finish the task is the winner.”

“Okay class, today we are going to tackle

about the table of weight and measures. Who (The students do the activity.)
among you have already know the topic?”

Me sir, we already tackled that topic during the

second grading period. But we are so lucky
because you are going to discuss is again sir.
“Okay, thank you!” Because we already forgot some weights and
measure.”
Objectives/Aims of the Lesson
1. To identify the standard table of weight
and measures.
2. To show the importance of table of
weight and measures in Bread and
Pastry Production.
3. To manipulate the table of weight and
measures.
(The students read and absorb the objectives of
the lesson)
C. Presenting “Class, please stay to your groups I will going
Examples/ to conduct an activity. First, I will give each
Instances of the group a hard copy of the standard table of
lesson weight and measures. That will be your guide
on our activity for the day. Because each group
will be given a problem to solve. You have 5
minute to solve the problem, once you’re done
you can paste your answers to the board.”

(The students to the activity)

D. Discussing New “How do you find the activity?”
concepts and “It’s very challenging sir!”
Practicing New
Skills #1 “Okay excellent! What do you notice?” “It’s about the different measurement and its
corresponding conversion to other unit sir.”

“Yes sir, because we already discuss this topic

“Very good! I think you already know this one, last second grading period. So we are familiar to
is it right?” the conversion.”

E. Discussing New
concepts and
Practicing New
Skills #2
F. Developing “Okay let’s talk about conversion”
Mastery “How many teaspoon is there in 1 table “In one tablespoon sir, we have three teaspoon.”
(leads to spoon?”
formative “We have 1/8 cup sir!”
assessment) “Very good! If we have 2 tablespoon, how
much cup is there?” “1/4 cup sir!”

“brilliant! How about 4 Table spoon is equal “1/3 cups sir”

to?”
“We have 3/4 cup plus 2 table spoon sir!”

“5 1/3 tablespoon is equals to?” “16 table spoon sir!”

“1 pound sir!”
“Good! And in 7/8 cup?”

“Sir it is a body's relative mass or the quantity of

matter contained by it, giving rise to a downward
“Brilliant!1 cup?” force; the heaviness of a person or thing.”

“Good! 16 ounces?”

“463.59 grams sir!”

“2.21 pounds sir!”

“1/4 to 1/2 cup (Slice)”

Very good! Now let’s proceed to the common
units of weights. What is weight?” “1 2/3 cups sir!”
“4 ½ cups sir!”

“1 cup sir!”
“Wow! Very good!”
“Sir it is the amount of space that a substance or
“1 pound is equals to?” object occupies, or that is enclosed within a
container, especially when great.”
“1 kilogram?” “4 pecks sir!”
“1 peck (pk) sir!”
“Very good! 1 medium orange?” ½ fluid ounce or 14.8 milliliters sir!”
“1/4 cup sir!”
“Good! 14 oz, can evaporated milk?” “1/2 cup sir”
“2 bushel!”
“Very good! 1lb. nuts?” “4.42 pounds sir!”
“6cups sir!”
“Excellent! 12 egg yolks?”

“Very good! Now let’s proceed to the common

units of volume. What do you mean of
volume?”

“Very good! How many pecks is in 1 bushel?”

“Very good! And in 8 quarts?”

“Excellent! 1 tablespoon is equals to?”

“Good!”

G. Finding practical “What is the importance of familiarizing this

applications of table of weight and measures?”
concepts and “It is very important because knowing these
skills in things can help us to measure something in
daily living different ways. As for example, if in the
ingredients the stated unit is cup and then we only
have tablespoon as a tool. Then we can easily
know how many table spoon is there in one cup.”

“Very excellent!”
H. Making “Now, who can summarize our topic for the
Generalization day?”
and Abstraction Today, we’re done discussing all about the table
about the of weight and measurements. We learned a lot of
lesson things sir, particularly the conversion from one
unit to a different one. And also I learned that it is
very important to have this table as our guide in
baking, this will serve as our strength when it
comes to unit conversion.”
“Very Good!”
