Performance Task #1: Read the passage below and accomplish the given activities:
A researcher wanted to determine the in-depth reasons of child labor. The study focused on a group of children
aged 6-12 who are collecting plastic bottles, scraps, metals, and other materials that can be sold to a junk
shop. The researcher observed and interviewed one of the children on the actual size where the children are
looking and collecting junks. In one of their conversations:
Interviewee: Oo nga, kaso kailangan naming mabuhay. Di kaya ng magulang namin na pag-aralin kaming
magkakapatid. Kailangan naming kumain, kaya nangongolekta kami ng basura. (Yes, but we
need to live. Besides, my parents cannot afford sending my other brother and sisters to school
at
the same time. We need to eat that’s why I’m collecting these scraps.)
Guide Questions:
1. If you were the researcher, what do you think will be your next question to ask? List down five questions
