I. Session Title: Preparing the Table of Specification

II.OBJECTIVES:
 Re-orient teachers on the purpose of TOS and its corresponding
parts.
 Prepare classroom test specification or blue print for the evaluation
of pupil’s performance.

V. Overview:

In most professional endeavours, it is economical of peoples’ time, and necessary


from the point of view of sound practice, to have a thoroughly planned view of
the whole exercise before you put together the parts(in this case the test items )
to meet a professional objective or serve a professional purpose. The term that is
sometimes used is called a blueprint, (this is a comparison with an architect’s
design of a whole structure in detail before the builder starts work).
This session offers the theory and detail as to why and how specifications
should be prepared for test purposes.

VI. PROCEDURE:
ACTIVITY:
1. Group the participants into three groups.
2. Ask each group to discuss their answers to the following questions.
 What is a Table of Specification?
 Why would you need to write a Table of Specification ?
 How do you write a Table of Specification?

3. Have each group share their answers to the whole group .

ANALYSIS /ABSTRUCTION:
1. Discussion on the topic using power point
1.1. What is a table of specification?
1.2. What is the importance of a TOS?
1.3. The thinking skills based on Blooms revised taxonomy
1.4. Presenting a sample
1.5. Steps in making TOS
1.6. Sample test paper

APPLICATION:
1. Workshop on making TOS.
2. Sharing learning and insights gain from the session.
3. Setting monitoring schedule.
4. Pledge of commitment
