SW 5: FALLACIES

I. INSTRUCTION
a. This activity is done by group. Refer to your group in Bigsky. Answer the
questions below and use the rest of our class time to discuss your ideas and
answers with your group mates. PLEASE USE ANY VIDEO CONFERENCE
PLATFORM TO MEET WITH YOUR GROUPMATES.
b. Assign two members in your group who will check your work’s
compliance to my plagiarism policy (refer to our Memorandum of
Agreement, Classroom Policies).
- Any work submitted by a group violating such policy
will warrant a zero score in this activity.
- ANY GROUP WHO WILL HAVE THE SAME
CORRECT ANSWER AND MISTAKE WITH
ANOTHER GROUP SHALL WARRANT A ZERO
SCORE. (THIS DOES NOT APPLY IF THE SAME
GROUPS WILL GET A PERFECT SCORE).
c. Only the leader has to submit this work once it is done. Meaning, the
members need not to submit their individual work. Make sure to include the
full names of the members at the upper left hand corner of this page.

d. FOR THE POLICY CONCERNING THE SCORING OF GROUP, PLEASE
REFER TO THE FILE I POSTED ABOUT PEER EVALUATION. Do not
include any member who will not contribute to the completion of your work.
e. DEADLINE: on or before AUGUST 12 (THURS)

II. DIRECTIONS:
1. Links about a specific video are posted below. Watch each video link and identify the
appropriate fallacy found in each video.
2. A maximum of 2 fallacies are needed to be identified in each video link. Avoid having
the same fallacy as an answer since you are given multiple videos to choose from.
3. Refer to Module 12 for the type of fallacy that you are going to put in each item.
4. Identify the time in the video where the fallacy is found.
5. Justify why you chose the fallacy. (maximum of 2 sentences)
6. Choose only 5 videos from the 10 links below.
7. E.g. -Format of Answer:
a. Video 1: Fallacy of Complex Question/ Start of Fallacy: 1:32/ Write the
statements mentioned in the video (you can paraphrase this to suit your identified
fallacy)/ It is Fallacy of Complex Question because person A in the video tries to
trap person B using a question like this “ _________.”
b. Total number of fallacies that you need to identify: 5. Total points: 15
