Installation Guide

Prior to Installation
Make sure that you have Administrator privileges (for your Windows 2000 or
Windows XP operating system) on the machine on which you want to install
the software. You will not be able to complete the installation without these
privileges.
Note: If you installed Microsoft Windows .NET Framework 1.1 SP1, you may
need to restart your computer.
Product Activation
Follow this procedure to activate the product.
1. Run the FactoryTalk Activation Tool (Start > Programs > Rockwell
Software -> FactoryTalk Activation-> FactoryTalk Activation Tool).
2. Use the FactoryTalk Activation Wizard to guide you through the steps
of downloading activation files for one or more computers.
To open the wizard, click Open Activation Wizard on the Get
Activations tab.
Installation Assistance
If you experience a problem with a software product within the first 24 hours of
installation, please review the information that's contained in this manual. You can
also contact a special Customer Support number for initial help in getting your
software up and running:
United States Contact your distributor. You must provide a Customer Support case
number (see phone number above to obtain one) to your distributor in
