Installation Guide

Installation Guide

System Requirements
To use RSLogix 5000 FuzzyDesigner version 16.00, you need:

• Intel Pentium (or compatible) 90 MHz or higher, 64 MB of RAM.


• one of the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows 2000,
Windows XP, Windows Server 2003.
• Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1.
• Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 (SP1).

Contents of the installation CD


• FuzzyDesigner CD browser: autorun.exe
• FuzzyDesigner setup: ENU\FuzzyDesigner\Setup.exe
• FactoryTalk Activation Tool: ENU\FactoryTalk
• Microsoft Windows .NET Framework1.1: dotNet\dotnetfx.exe
• Microsoft Windows .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1:
dotNet\NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe

Fuzzy Designer publications on your computer at C:\Program
Files\Rockwell Software\FuzzyDesigner\ENU\V16.00\Documents.
The table that follows briefly describes what these publications are for.

Resource Description
FD_Examples.pdf Information about the project examples included in
FuzzyDesigner.
FD_GettingStarted. Information about how to become familiar with
pdf FuzzyDesigner by working through an example project.
FD_Install.pdf Information about how to install FuzzyDesigner software.
FD_Manual.pdf Detailed information about how to use FuzzyDesigner.
FD_XMLformat.pdf Information about the XML import/export format
available for FuzzyDesigner projects.

Prior to Installation
Make sure that you have Administrator privileges (for your Windows 2000 or
Windows XP operating system) on the machine on which you want to install
the software. You will not be able to complete the installation without these
privileges.

Install FuzzyDesigner from the CD


1. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive.

This will launch FuzzyDesigner setup window. If your computer is


not set to automatically open a CD, you will have to open it yourself
by running the AUTORUN.exe file located at the root of the CD
media.

2. Click Install Microsoft .NET Framework to install Microsoft Windows


.NET Framework 1.1 (if not yet installed).

3. Click Install Microsoft .NET Framework SP1 to install Microsoft


Windows .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 (if not yet installed).

4. Click Install FuzzyDesigner to install RSLogix 5000 FuzzyDesigner


v16.00.

5. Click Install FactoryTalk Activation Client to install FactoryTalk


Activation Tool (if not yet installed).

This tool will enable you to activate the software.

Note: If you installed Microsoft Windows .NET Framework 1.1 SP1, you may
need to restart your computer.

Start RSLogix 5000 FuzzyDesigner software


Double-click the RSLogix 5000 FuzzyDesigner v16.00 shortcut icon on your
desktop.
You can also click Start and then select Programs > Rockwell Software >
RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series > RSLogix 5000 FuzzyDesigner >
FuzzyDesigner v16.00 from the menu.

Product Activation
Follow this procedure to activate the product.

1. Run the FactoryTalk Activation Tool (Start > Programs > Rockwell
Software -> FactoryTalk Activation-> FactoryTalk Activation Tool).

2. Use the FactoryTalk Activation Wizard to guide you through the steps
of downloading activation files for one or more computers.
To open the wizard, click Open Activation Wizard on the Get
Activations tab.

Uninstall the Software


Follow this procedure to uninstall the software.

1. Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel.

2. Double click Add/Remove Programs.

3. From the Add/Remove dialog, select RSLogix 5000 FuzzyDesigner


v16.00 and click OK.

New Product Satisfaction Return


Rockwell Automation tests all of its products to ensure that they are fully
operational when shipped from the manufacturing facility. However, if your
product is not functioning and needs to be returned, follow these procedures.

United States Contact your distributor. You must provide a Customer Support case
number (see phone number above to obtain one) to your distributor in
order to complete the return process.
Outside United States Please contact your local Rockwell Automation representative for return
procedure.
