Question: In your own understanding, what is the difference between Dry Cooking Methods and

Moist Cooking Methods?

The difference between Dry and Moist Cooking Methods is the main element: water. Water,
representing as the basic ingredient in almost every meal, represents as well as a vital part of cooking
the food. Because of water, the taste, texture, appearance, and even the viscosity of a certain food is
then varied. With the understanding that water has supplemented the food’s cooking method, the
control of water in cooking is also difficult to handle.

Most of the time, dry cooking method does not include water and even removes the water
component of the ingredient, such as in baking or grilling. While in moist cooking method, the water is
the underlying source of heat and supplants the ingredient and such is controlled according to its use in
cooking, whether it be boiling or blanching.
