The Illustrated Parts List consists of three or four parts:
- General information on use of the Illustrated Parts List.(INTRO)
- The Equipment Designator Index (EDI)(Only for equipment including electric or
electronic components).
- The Numerical Index.(NI)
- The Detailed Parts List.
2- INFORMATION ON THE IPL USE
A- General
The Illustrated Parts List provides a complete list of a11 the components
which form the unit.
B- Using the I.P.L.
- Seeking an item whose circuit designator is unknown : refer to the Equip-
ment Designator Index (EDI) providing the corresponding figure and item
number.
- Seeking an item whose Vendor part number is known : refer to the Numerical
Index which lists the corresponding figure an8 item number.
- Seeking the Vendor part number of an item whose function is known :
identify the item using the illustrations and refer to the corresponding
nomenclature.
C- Abbreviations
- AR : As required.
- DELETED : Deleted parts.
- DET : Detail.
- LH and RH : Left hand and right hand.
- MATCHEDPART ITEM NUMBER: Matched part that cari be delivered separately.
- MATCHEDPART ORDER NHA : Matched part, order next higher assembly.
- MODIFIED FROM : Part obtained by modifying another part.
-NHA : Next higher assembly.
-NF: Not procurable.
- OLD P/N NEVER INSTALLED : Old part number, this item has never been
installed.
- OPT SEE TABLE : Optional see table.
- OPT TO : Optional part.

- UNDERSIZE : Part made io repair size smaller than its nominal dimension.
D- Updating
(1) General
When an item is revised, added or deleted, the letter "R" is shown in
the right hand margin (the date of issue changes).
Letter "R" appears in the right hand margin opposite the page number
when a11 the item numbers are changed.
(2) Added items
The basic sequence of the items given from 10 to 10 enables to incor-
porate new items between the old ones in the appropriate order of the
breakdown.
With the incorporation of more than 9 new items, a new figure is to be
appended at the end of the IPL.
(3) Deleted items
Should a part number be definitely deleted, the information given in
the Nomenclature zone (DESCRIPTION, USAGE CODE AND QUANTITY columns)
must be deleted. The term "DELETED" shall be stated instead of the
nomenclature information in NOMENCLATUREcolumn.
The old part number shall always remain in list in the Numerical Index
and carry the term "DELETED".
(4) New figures added
Whenever new illustrations are necessary the alternative figures cari be
inserted provided they refer to a same nomenclature.
The alternative figure shall be assigned with the basic figure number
added with a letter (A to Z, except for 1 and 0). This letter follows
the item number in the nomenclature.

3- NUMERIC LISTS
A- Equipment designator index (EDI)
It provides a11 the circuits symbols assigned to the electric and electronic
components of the items listed in the alphanumeric order for the letters,
numerical order for the figures.
B- Numerical Index
In this index, the part references are classified in the following order :
Classification is made from left to right side, each digit (letter,
numeral, dash) being considered separately.
(a) the first left row ordering will be :
- an alpha letter A to Z (except for the "0" and "1") letters to be
considered as zero and one).
- a numeral 0 to 9.
(b) for subsequent rows, the order is :
- a dash.
- an alpha letter A to Z (except for the "0" and "I", letters to be
considered as zero and one).
- a numeral 0 to 9.
4- DETAILED PARTS LIST
The detailed nomenclature gives the parts List and Illustrations for components
of the considered assembly.
-Figure and item numbers are listed in the left handcolumn and refer to parts
identified in the appropriate figure.
-1tems in the nomenclature column are printed to indicate assembly relationship
of an item within the list. For example the description of an item is indented
one column to the right of the description of its next higher assembly.
