DNA Conclusions
1. The DNA typing profiles obtained from exhibit FC-6 [2 pieces of grey carpet (larger piece) from vehicle, areas AA and AC], previously designated as Individual A, match the profiles obtained from exhibits NA-123 (swab from drinking glass), NA-124 (3 drinking straws, area AA), NA-125 (swab from razor charger/cleaner), NA-128 (swab from juice bottle), NA-129 (swab from juice bottle), and NA-131A (swab from fork) (exhibits reportedly seized from the residence of AL TINGER, Johnny Brian). The estimated probability of selecting an unrelated individual at random from the Canadian Caucasian population with the same profile is 1 in 47 trillion.
I [1
2. The DNA typing profile obtained from exhibit FC-6 [2 pieces of grey carpet (larger piece) from vehicle, area AB1, matches the profiles obtained from exhibits NA-123 (swab from drinking glass), NA-124 (3 drinking straws, area AA), NA-125 (swab from razor charger/cleaner), NA-128 (swab from juice bottle), NA-129 (swab from juice bottle), NA-131A (swab from fork), NA-131B (swab from fork), and NA-132 (nail clippers, area AA) (exhibits reportedly seized from the residence of AL TINGER, Johnny Brian) at 8 genetic regions. The estimated probability of selecting an unrelated individual at random from the Canadian Caucasian population with the same profile is 1 in 1.5 trillion. The significance of the association increases with the number of genetic regions involved in determining the match.
3. The donor of the DNA typing profile obtained from exhibit NA-130 (swab from lemonade bottle) is not the source of the DNA obtained from exhibit FC-6 [2 pieces of grey carpet (larger piece) from vehicle, areas AA, AB, and AC]. The DNA typing profile obtained from exhibit NA-130 (swab from lemonade bottle) is that of an unknown male individual and has been personally designated as Individual B.
4. The partial DNA typing profile obtained from exhibit NA-131C (swab from fork) is that of a male individual. The donor of the profiles obtained from exhibits NA-123 (swab from drinking glass), NA-124 (3 drinking straws, area AA), NA-125 (swab from razor charger/cleaner), NA-128 (swab from juice bottle), NA-129 (swab from juice bottle), NA-131A (swab from fork), NA-131B (swab from fork), snd NA-132 (nail clippers, area AA) cannot be excluded as a possible contributor of this partial profile.
5. No human DNA was obtained from exhibits NA-124 (3 drinking straws, area AB) and NA-132 (nail clippers, areaAB).

DNA Conclusions
1. It is 600 million times more likely that the DNA evidence would be observed if the donor of exhibit NA-124 (three drinking straws - area AA) is/was a biological child of the donor of the known sample, exhibit NA-160 (AL TINGER, Elfriede), and is/was the sibling of the donor of the known sample, exhibit NA-162 (AL TINGER, Gary), rather than an unrelated individual selected at random from the Canadian Caucasian population. A likelihood ratio greater than 10 000 indicates very strong evidence of parentage/relatedness *.
The DNA typing profiles obtained from exhibits NA-160 and NA 162 were not compared to questioned samples .

2. The DNA typing profile obtained from exhibit NA-124 (three drinking straws - area AA) [reportedly seized from the residence of AL TINGER, Johnny Brian - see Forensic Laboratory Report Two] is presumed to be that of AL TINGER, Johnny Brian and will be referred to as such for the remainder of this report.
Residence of ALTINGER, Johnny Brian

3. The DNA typing profile obtained from exhibit NA-133 (swab of computer mouse), matches that of the known sample, exhibit NA-124 (ALTINGER, Johnny Brian) at 7 genetic regions. The estimated probability of selecting an unrelated individual at random from the Canadian Caucasian population with the same profile is 1 in 39 billion. The significance of the association increases with the number of genetic regions involved in determining the match.
1
4. The DNA typing profile obtained from exhibit NA-134 (swab of computer keyboard) is of mixed origin consistent with having originated from two individuals, at least one of whom is male. The donor of the known sample, exhibit NA-124 (AL TINGER, Johnny Brian), cannot be excluded as a possible contributor to this mixed profile.
Individual B, Individual C (see conclusion # 21), and the donors of the known samples, exhibits NA-151 (TWITCHELL, Mark Andrew) and NA-161 (TETREAULT, Giles), are not contributors to this mixed profile.

5. The DNA typing profiles obtained from exhibits NA-2A (knife in sheath - areas AA, AB, AC, AD, and AE), NA- 12 (steak knife - area AA), and NA-60 (duffle bag - area AA) match that of the known sample, exhibit NA-124 (ALTINGER, Johnny Brian). The estimated probability of selecting an unrelated individual at random from the Canadian Caucasian population with the same profile is 1 in 47 trillion.
6. The DNA typing profile obtained from exhibit NA-2A (knife in sheath - area AF) matches that of the known sample, exhibit NA-124 (ALTINGER, Johnny Brian), at 7 genetic regions. The estimated probability of selecting an unrelated individual at random from the Canadian Caucasian population with the same profile is 1 in 39 billion. The significance of the association increases with the number of genetic regions involved in determining the match.
J
7. The partial DNA typing profile obtained from exhibit NA-2A (knife in sheath - area AG) is of mixed origin consistent with having originated from more than two individuals, at least one of whom is male. Due to the large number of possible contributors and the weakness of some components, no meaningful comparison can be made to any sample.
8. The DNA typing profile obtained from exhibit NA-60 (duffle bag - area AB) is of mixed origin consistent with having originated from two individuals, at least one of whom is male. The profile of the major component matches that of the known sample, exhibit NA-124 (ALTINGER, Johnny Brian). The estimated probability of selecting an unrelated individual at random from the Canadian Caucasian population with the same profile is 1 in 47 trillion.
The donor of the known sample, exhibit NA-151 (TWITCHELL, Mark Andrew), cannot be excluded as a possible contributor to this mixed profile.
Individual B, Individual C (see conclusion # 21), and the donor of the known sample, exhibit NA-161 (TETREAULT, Giles) are not contributors to this mixed profile.
