Design & Implementation of Patient Monitoring System Using Microcontroller

This document outlines a student project to design and implement a patient monitoring system using a microcontroller. The system will measure a patient's internal parameters like temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and saline status. It will use sensors to monitor these values and send audio alerts to doctors if measurements fall outside normal ranges. The project aims to reduce doctors' workloads and help them respond quickly if a patient's condition becomes critical. The system will be designed, simulated, and programmed using MicroC software. It is expected to help nurses monitor patients more carefully and give doctors alerts to improve patient care.

Introduction
• Hospitals are an area that benefits from systems known to
be microcontroller based applications.
• Hospital is functional with the sleeping of patients having
little or no information about the patient status being
treated
• patient status monitoring device helps nurses and doctors
significantly to know the condition of the patient
Statement of the problem
• In our country in hospitals there is a big load on the
doctors
• patients also encountered many problems
• When the doctor is in one room the patient who is in the
other room may be in critical condition
Objective of the study
General objective
• Design and construct a patient monitoring
system
Specific objective
• To reduce work load of the doctor’s
• To measure a patient internal parameters
• To give an audio alert to the doctor
Scope of the project
• Design robust a patient status monitoring system.
• Designing and preparing a simulation
• Write a micro c code program for the design
• Implement the project
Methodology
• Gather the required information
• The exact system components to be used will
calculated
• A code written in MicroC
Block Diagram Patient Monitoring System
Hardware and software used
• Body temperature sensor
• Blood pressure Sensor
• Pulse rate Sensor
• Saline status sensor
• Microcontroller
• Audio Alert
• LCD Display
• LED
• Protous.8 software
• MikroC Compiler
Significance of the project
• It helps nurses to serve the patient more carefully
• Doctor hears the alert and goes quickly to the patient
• Monitoring the patient’s condition collectively and
give a decision accordingly comforts the patients
• Easily monitoring different physical and
mentally disable peoples
Expected Output
• The designed system solves the serious problems
occurring on patients
• Reduce work load of doctors or nurse
