The Business Analysis Tools- Diagrams
Analysis and Interpretation

In this part, we will discuss the analysis and interpretation for Strength, Weakness,

Opportunities, and Threats and Porter's Five Forces of Jollibee. In the SWOT part, the

Strengths are a Variety of Foods, A well-loved brand, Open 24 hours, Tasty food and

Quality Check, and The Biggest fast-food chain in the Philippines. It is true that Jollibee

has a lot of products to offer, they offer breakfast foods and the usual meals that we buy

in Jollibee, Jollibee is a well-loved brand because even a kid loves to eat at Jollibee and

everyone knows about this company especially here in the Philippines. Jollibee has

good foods to offer and they ensure that the quality of their products is 100% safe to

eat. Jollibee is the largest fast-food chain in the Philippines, according to our research,

Jollibee operates over 1,300 stores nationwide. For the weaknesses part, we have put

there that this fast-food is not preferred by all, some products are high-priced that

cannot be afforded by many people, the brand doesn’t incorporate technology into its

business. This fast food is not preferred by all people because they prefer to eat at the

different fast-food chains as we all know Jollibee has a lot of competitors here in the

Philippines. The products of Jollibee are quite expensive to others and not all people

afford to buy foods from Jollibee and they prefer to eat at their home or buy food from

Carinderia to save money. For the Opportunities, Jollibee has an Online Market, they

have a website so you can order, you can also order at Grab, Food Panda, and they

also have an app called Jollibee Philippines. Jollibee also has stores internationally,

according to our research Jollibee operates in 35 countries with over 5,800 stores

globally. Jollibee is also releasing new food and services to offer for their consumers.
They also get celebrities or influencers to promote their products and services. Lastly,

Threats, Strong Competition from other fast-food brands, Jollibee has a lot of

competitors nationwide like KFC, Mcdonalds, Bonchon, and many more. Increase in not

so healthy living lifestyle because typically fast food is loaded with sodium, calories,

unhealthy fats, has low in nutrients, lack in fruits and vegetables. The SWOT Analysis of

Jollibee helps them to maintain and improve their services. Knowing their strengths and

weaknesses makes their branch succeed. Jollibee is one of the most popular and

largest fast-food chains in the Philippines. They’re making sure that their strengths are

different from their competitors and should focus on improving their weaknesses.

Jollibee has a lot of competitors but they maintain their rank among the other fast-food

chains. On Porter’s part, this is where you indicate your competitors because this part is

the method of analyzing the competition of the business. The threat of the latest

entrants displays how new marketplace gamers impose threats to the present

marketplace gamers. If the enterprise can be worthwhile and boundaries to go into the

enterprise can be low, it'll appeal to extra gamers and hence, the risk of the latest

entrants. can be high. To tackle the threats of new entrants Jollibee Food Corporation

can develop brand loyalty by creating strong customer relationships. The competitors of

Jollibee are Mcdo, KFC, BonChon, and many more, especially in the Philippines. There

are a lot of popular fast-food chains in the country and all of these fast-food chains have

each other’s strengths and uniqueness. To tackle the bargaining power of buyers

Jollibee can manage it by increasing their customer base. Jollibee creates a unique

taste of their product and satisfies the customers’ wants that’s why they are on top even

there has a lot of competitors. They add different menus for the customers not to get
bored with the food. To tackle the threats of substitutes, Jollibee can emphasize how its

offered services are better than other substitutes. Jollibee is a service type of business.

They can only serve foods according to their menu, like fried chicken, spaghetti, yum

burger, fries, and soft drinks. Substitute products are a threat to every business. Despite

this threat, Jollibee can emphasize how their production of food is different from others.

And lastly, to tackle the bargaining power of suppliers Jollibee Food Corporation can

decrease the dependency on a few suppliers. Jollibee has been competing with the

traditional supplier of entertainment and media. Also, develop a long-term contractual

relationship with suppliers from different regions to lower their bargaining power and to

improve Jollibee’s supply chain efficiency. According to a study, over a year, Jollibee

has a unique strategy compared to other fast-food chains. SWOT Analysis and Porter’s

Five Forces Analysis of Jollibee help them to be on top. They strengthen their strengths,

improve their weaknesses, grab the opportunities and take the risk, and don’t fear the

threats around them. Despite having lots of competitors, faces a number of challenges,

Jollibee continues to look ahead by expanding its restaurant chains into new markets.

opportunities, and threats that provide guidance to the company so that it develops.

Philippines. They are ensuring that their strengths are different from those of their rivals,

allowing them to focus on improving their weaknesses. Jollibee has many competitors,

but they continue to dominate the fast-food market. The strengths in the SWOT

Analysis, Jollibee has a lot of products to offer, they offer breakfast foods and the usual

meals that we buy in Jollibee, Jollibee is a well-loved brand because even a kid loves to

eat at Jollibee and everyone knows about this company especially here in the

Philippines. The weaknesses of Jollibee are not favored by all, that certain items are

expensive and cannot be afforded by many customers, and that the company does not

integrate technology into its market. For the Opportunities, Jollibee has an Online

Market, a marketplace where you can shop, you can even order at Grab, Food Panda,

and they have an app named Jollibee Philippines. The last is threats, Jollibee has

multiple rivals worldwide, including KFC, McDonald's, Bonchon, and many more. Fast

food is typically rich in salt, calories, unhealthy fats, low in nutrients, and low in fruits

and vegetables, resulting in an increase in bad lifestyle decisions. SWOT Analysis

identifies the fast-food chain’s strengths and what distinguishes it from its competitors,

as well as its weaknesses, which prevent the fast food from doing well and should be

addressed in order for the brand to improve. It lists the opportunities that the company

should take advantage of in order to raise its market share and fast-food chain value. It

also focuses on a threat that has the potential to harm the brand. Porter’s Five Forces of
Jollibee are first, Threats of Entry, it is the ability of the competitors. The competitors of

Jollibee are Mcdo, KFC, BonChon, and many more, especially in the Philippines. There

are a lot of popular fast-food chains in the country. Second is the Bargaining Power of

Buyers, it is the pressure that the customers can put on a business. Other fast-food

chains also have a strength rather than Jollibee. Jollibee creates a unique taste of their

product and satisfies the customers’ wants that’s why they are on top even there has a

lot of competitors. The third is the Threats of Substitutes, it is the other products that the

customers can purchase outside the industry. Jollibee is a service type of business.

They can only serve foods according to their menu, like fried chicken, spaghetti, ice

cream, yum burger, fries, and soft drinks. Substitute products are a threat to every

business. Despite this threat, Jollibee can emphasize how their production of food is

different from others. Lastly is the Bargaining Power of Suppliers, it is the pressure that

the suppliers can do on a business. Jollibee has been competing with the traditional

supplier of entertainment and media, it needs to reveal greater flexibility in agreement

as compared to the traditional organization. Porter’s Five Forces of the Jollibee Food

Corporation helps them to improve their services and their products.

Conclusion

To sum things up, Jollibee is one of the most famous fast-food chains here in the

Philippines because of its successful customer awareness, outstanding menu row,

exciting new products, unique marketing campaigns, and effective manufacturing and

logistics facilities a smart branding strategy. Jollibee is the Philippines' biggest fast-food

restaurant, with over 1,400 locations. Jollibee is the Philippines' dominant industry

leader, with a market share that exceeds that of all other global fast-food chains

combined. It offers great-tasting, high-quality, and low-cost foods, such as its superior-

tasting Chickenjoy, mouth-watering Yumburger, and delectably enjoyable Jolly

Spaghetti. Even though their food is not preferred by all, still, this fast-food chain is

frequented by many Filipinos because of the juiciness of chicken joy and Jollibee has

also become a Filipino family restaurant. Jollibee is a family-oriented company that

promotes family values and togetherness, as well as Filipino pride. Furthermore, people

can order their cravings in calling via their landline (#8-7000), and also they can order

through Grab, Food Panda, through their app, and their website. They are ensuring that

their qualities are distinct from those of their opponents, and they can concentrate on

addressing their shortcomings. Despite having several rivals, Jollibee maintains its

place among the other fast-food chains.

Recommendations

The following are the recommendations based on the SWOT and Porter's analysis.

- Jollibee should consider creating healthy meals or menus for some customers who

enjoy eating healthy food in order to attract a large number of customers.

- They should maintain the good quality of their foods and menu so that customers will

not switch to other fast-food chains.

- Jollibee has a wide variety of foods to offer, but they should revise or review their price

list to keep up with their competitors.

-They should not remove their in-demand food products from their menu to maintain

their regular customers.

-Jollibee should keep enough stock of their in-demand products on hand to avoid a

shortage in the middle of the day because if they don't have enough menu to offer the

tendency customers will likely go to other fast-food restaurants.

-They should also consider hiring employees who are truly interested in the business

sector and have good knowledge in restaurant operations and marketing strategies in
order to maintain their popularity and in-demand products because it all boils down to a

well-thought-out strategy.

-Jollibee should hire applicants and employees who are excellent in handling skills.
