3 - Engaging Parents (002)

Explore the following math resources:

Arithmetic for Parents: A book for Grown-Ups About Children’s Mathematics, by Ron Aharoni.

The Math page at the Parent Engagement Matters website.

How could resources like these benefit parents? Now find your own resources.

As a class, in a Google Doc or Google Sheets page that your instructor will set up (this doc!), create a resource list of math
books, blogs, resources, and games you would recommend to parents.

Consider how you could use these resources to engage parents. For example, could you suggest a math book group?

Post your parent engagement ideas to the Discussion.

When everyone has contributed to the collaborative doc, download the list to your computer and add it to your Portfolio.

Consider sharing this list with your school librarian or post it on your school website.
