that they can flourish and be available to all the people. Others believe that
government funding threatens the integrity
of the arts.
/////////////////
'Arts' is a process of presenting a person's thoughts and analysis of a subject.
It can be of any form, from painting on a canvas to dance, singing to sculpting,
and so on. One to be good at art needs a lot of attention and detailing
of what he wants to put into a picture. It is a great skill that everyone cannot
do. So preserving is our responsibility.
I believe that government funding is necessary to flourish the greatness of art to
future generations. It is evident from history that arts is given utmost
priority. For example, In the empire of Sri Krishna Devaraya, there was an advisor
for the king who turned out famous for his poetry and who introduced the
art called poetry in that era and from then poets were given special appreciations
from the king. So, an inspiration, a hand in support is needed
regardless of the field artist hails from. This helps artists to come out and do
their thing rather than leaving art in search of livelihood.
We have numerous examples where people left their interest in art due to a lack of
source of income for their work. Not only does the government have this
responsibility of reviving arts by funding for exhibitions, workshops in museums
but also on the public to encourage this rare talent.

Universities making it necessary for a student to persue variety of courses other
than his field of study
Universities making it necessary for a student to pursue a variety of courses other
than his field of study has two different sides. So, I agree with some and
disagree with others. I agree with the fact that taking a different course can help
students to widen their thinking and multi-tasking capabilities. While I
disagree with the statement as it would be an increasing burden on the student.
Above all, it depends on the interest of the student whether to take it or not.
Involving in a course that is not his stream would improve reasoning and critical
thinking. It would help the student to present him/herself in front of an
interviewer as a multi-tasker, which would add a cherry to his cake. For example,
if a computer science student wants to attend an interview that requires a little
bit of electrical knowledge, it would be favorable for him if he already has the
basic knowledge about it.
Turning to another side of the discussion, some universities have their curriculum
in such a way that, a student needs to complete his course in the stipulated time,
and also he should earn the required credits. So, it would increase the stress
quotient on the student to complete a variety of courses along with his mainstream
one. Another factor to take into consideration is whether the should is interested
in that particular subject or not. A student will not excel in any field without
interest. Neither everyone will be interested in biology nor in math.

In this rapidly changing tech-thirst world, people are more inclined towards online
shopping. It helps them in saving commute time and also provides them with a wide
variety of products, irrespective of location and budget. Moreover, It gives a
clear picture of the price of a commodity beforehand. I agree with the statement
that going digital for shopping is better than the traditional way, taking into
account of advantages the former one has.
Overall, we have seen a greater rise in the gross domestic product of the country,
by 20percent over the last 5years in the field of Internet shopping. This GDP
increase tells us the revenue generated and the amount of work it has created.
Online shopping saves us from long waiting in a queue for billing the products
purchased. One can sit at his or her comfortable position either at the workplace
or at home and complete the payment in no time. For example, if a specific person
needs to do some shopping for some occasion, it would take him at least an hour to
travel, purchase, and return back. Looking at the other merit that online shopping
has, is, it will give the opportunity for the customers to be able to find
different products at various costs and also helps to avail discounts, coupons and
also some gifts.
Online shopping is available 24 hours and 7 days a week which is very convenient
for working people. Considering all the above factors, I can conclude that online
shopping is far more reliable than the conventional method.

Claim: Group assignments that students must work together to complete should
replace a substantial amount of traditional lecture-based instruction in college
and university courses.
Reason: It is vital for students to gain experience collaborating with peers to
study a topic and to achieve a common goal.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree
with the claim and the reason on which that claim is based.
/////////
Group assignments help students to collaborate with their colleagues also helps in
developing their communication skills. However, group assignments cannot beat the
benefits of conventional lecture-based instructions. The traditional way of
teaching facilitates clarity on a particular topic before they start to work on
assignments and outweighs the concept of group assignments in numerous ways. I
disagree with the statement that the orthodoxical way of teaching to be replaced
with group assignments.
Firstly, discussing who will be benefitted from group assignments has two sides.
One, if a group has one hardworking student who aims for good grades and remaining
who are content with just passing. This creates a burden on the hard-working
student who may not be able to complete the work given as the remaining pupil does
not contribute to the work. This is why an individual assignment after the lecture
would be good.
Secondly, when a group of students who are at the same level of knowledge and are
not into any research before is working on an assignment, ideas they share would
not have a deeper drive into the subject as much as a qualified professor would
deliver them. So, a professor who would guide the students in how a problem can be
approached and which resources a student should go through will help the student
more than a group assignment.
Further, talking about improving the collaboration skills in students can be done
in several ways like using conducting a question and answer session after a lecture
and involving students in just a minute discussion among a team of students in the
given lecture. This will not only improve their ability in working in a team but
also helps in their analytical reasoning skills.
In conclusion, a student needs to develop his skills in all the areas which would
help him in the future. A student needs to have a skill in working among a group
and also he should be good in individual work as well. So, group assignments cannot
replace the traditional way of lecture-based experience which would create more
chaos in the progress of the assignment.

A nation should require all of its students to study the same national curriculum
until they enter college.
//////////////
Education is a powerful tool to enlighten humankind. So, a curriculum should be
designed such that it helps the students in the future by providing mandatory
foundations to lead a smooth transformation to college. However, a country
requiring its students to take the same curriculum before they enter college will
not create a variety of knowledgeable people passing out from the school. The below
essay discusses his topic in a more vivid format.
Firstly, the same curriculum will not have diversity among the students. All the
students will be of the same kind mostly. If the national curriculum is designed in
such a way that it focuses more on a theory-based syllabus then it would not help
students who will get involved in the study if it is practical. So if a nation does
not have the same curriculum then we can see different types of approaches to study
a subject like theory-based, assignment-based, or learning it from teaching
assistants.
Secondly, Every student will not be interested in the same subject being mandate.
For example, if a student wants to be a writer for a magazine in the future then he
would love to have subjects like literature, English. On other hand, if a student
wants to pursue a career in the medical field he will expect to have subjects like
chemistry, biology. Also considering students who may be interested in sports wants
his curriculum to have at least an hour of physical activity training from his
school. The same national curriculum will not help in providing all the above
plethora of opportunities to students.
Furthermore, If every school is having the same curriculum it would be tough for
the governments or any educational maintenance firms to give a ranking of schools.
As every school is having the same syllabus and the same teaching method it would
not be justified to rate schools. If the schools have different curriculum then the
rating of schools can be given based on the infrastructure they have, the type of
teaching methods they are using, and how well students can perform in their higher
studies.
In conclusion, a curriculum needs to be focusing on creating diversified students
by the time they leave the school and should provide a choice for students to
select a curriculum of their choice.

Schools should be responsible only for teaching academic skills and not for
teaching social and ethical values.
My points:
+ spend most of the time in school so it will be easy
schools are accountable for moulding a child
teachers have more wider perspective than parents
some values are universal
some values already taught.
- curriculum is full
--------
The issue of whether or not schools should be accountable only for teaching
academic skills and not for inculcating social and ethical values is a contentious
one. While each side has its strengths and weaknesses, I believe that schools are
responsible for making a student aware of some social and ethical morals.
Furthermore, it is on schools in moulding a child in his early stages of academic
life which helps him in future. Schools can be responsible as students spend
60percent of their time in a day in the school and have access to well-qualified
teachers as they have wider perspectives.
First, a student spends most of the time in a day in the school, this makes schools
take advantage and help students understand the social and ethical values step by
step throughout their schooling. For example, my school has a curriculum that
contains one hour of quiz session every week which has some questions asking the
students which is a good thing to do and which is not. This helped me in
recognizing the difference between ethical and unethical doings, social values to
foster well. Schools play a vital role in shaping the young minds in correct way.
So schools hold a major role in introducing students with some ethical and moral
values.
Second, schools staff well qualified teachers who have done their researches or
have good degrees in certain fields which would have helped them in looking into
broader perspectives of any issue and also have ability in dealing students of
different mindsets. They can easily notice the students who are little deviated or
the students who are not aware of general ethics of conduct and help them to
understand the importance of social and ethical values. This makes it clear that
schools should be held responsible for teaching the academic skills along with
social and ethical values.
One may argue that the schools already have a tight academic curriclum, which would
not be possible to make some room for introducing social and ethical values to
students. But, a school can be a credible one only if it has ability to nuture a
student in all possible ways of development, before he completes his schooling. For
example, if a school has a curriculum that says it introduces coding for sixth
grade students, which is not mandatory in early schooling, it would be better to
have activities which reinforces social and ethical values which cannot be learned
later, whereas coding can be learnt later. So a school curriculum should be
designed in such a way that it helps pupil in all the possible ways.
In conclusion, after all the above perspectives on the issue we can say that
schools are responsible in teaching social and ethical values not only academic
skills. A school's curriculum, staff and their ability to mould the students play a
important in also understanding the social and ethical values.

IELTS ESSAY TASK 2:
Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved way of living
of the people?
The twentieth century bought many advances with it. This rapidly changing world
also bought tremendous changes in the food industry, mainly in terms of food
preparation. This change has a more positive effect on the lives of people as it
saves time, it helps people turn towards healthy eating, and also people do not
need any professional expertise in food preparation these days.
First, preparing food these days is saving lots of time for us as a result of a
variety of foods and food preparation methods being introduced. For example, In
earlier days it would take at least two hours to bake a cake. And now we can do it
in less than an hour with the help of ovens and also the types of flours being
available now.
Second, to prepare the food we do not need any special expertise, even the men are
interested in cooking these days, whereas in the olden days it was believed that
only women can do cooking. For example, preparing noodles is simple that hostel
student who do not have access to their desired food help as a substitute for them.
Furthermore, this change is helping people to turn towards healthier eating habits.
Freezers, refrigerators are helpful in storing the fruits and vegetables for a
longer time and helps in preparing some type of foods in no time.
In conclusion, this revolutionary change in food preparation positively aided
people's lives. Today, we can prepare food that is healthier and which has less
preparation time.

The council of Maple County, concerned about the county's becoming overdeveloped,
is debating a proposed measure that would prevent the development of existing
farmland in the county. But the council is also concerned that such a restriction,
by limiting the supply of new housing, could lead to significant increases in the
price of housing in the county. Proponents of the measure note that Chestnut County
established a similar measure ten years ago, and its housing prices have increased
only modestly since. However, opponents of the measure note that Pine County
adopted restrictions on the development of new residential housing fifteen years
ago, and its housing prices have since more than doubled. The council currently
predicts that the proposed measure, if passed, will result in a significant
increase in housing prices in Maple County.
Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in
order to decide whether the prediction and the argument on which it is based are
reasonable. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to
evaluate the prediction.

Society should make efforts to save endangered species only if the potential
extinction of those species is the result of human activities.
Write a response in which you discuss your views on the policy and explain your
reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position,
you should consider the possible consequences of implementing the policy and
explain how these consequences shape your position.
-----------------
The policy mentioned states that we as a society should take responsibility to save
species that are on the edge of extinction as a result of human activities. I
disagree with this statement because every task, every action, every reaction and
natural calamities taking place these days are some or other way because of human
interference. We cannot differentiate between extinction caused by human activities
or by any other source.
Firstly, this beautiful creation of god called "life" is only possible on our
planet Earth and we are fortunate to be bestowed with all types of resources we
need either directly or indirectly. There is no seperation among animals and humans
for the creation. Every thing has its own importance, except the fact that we
humans have memory and analytical thinking capabilities. The Earth will be
diversified only if we humans grow as a habitat along with animals, birds, insects
and many other creatures. For example, if all the living things are endangered
except the humans then we will not have all the resources nature and different
species provide us and we will be able to see only humans whereever we look. So, as
a whole we have the responsibility of saving our fellow species that add value to
our lives who are about to extinct.
Secondly, there are many species that are extinct because of indirect human
activities. For example, polar bears that live in the Antarctic region are in the
edge of extinction beacuse of melting of polar ice caps. We deny the fact that
polar ice caps have melted because of global warming . Many say that the polar
bears are about to annihiliate just beacuse of melting of ice caps and support it
considering as a natural calamity. But the CFC's and other acids and chemicals are
responsible for for the melting.

Students should fund their education with part-time work that they do while they
study.
---------
independent, resp, decision making, multi tasking,
--
Education is an important tool that helps a country to move from an underdeveloped
to a developed nation with the advances and increase in literacy rate. "Education
helps in movement from darkness to light" is a famous quote by Allan Boom.
Education develops the human brain in all possible ways during the learning
process. So education is important for everyone without any impediments and to
pursue education from a good university or institution, one needs to have the
ability to pay the university fee. This may not be possible for everyone. So, here
comes in picture the "part-time work" which is aiding many student's college fees.
Part-time work helps a student to be independent and responsible. Working part-time
boosts self-confidence and mental stability. He will also learn how to be
responsible for work and also understands the importance of being accountable. If a
student works part-time then he need not depend on his parent for pocket money. For
example, if a child is provided with 10 dollars as pocket money and he wants to buy
a play-station which costs him around 25 dollars, he can compensate this amount by
doing part-time work. This helps him to learn to be independent.
Working after college hours also helps the student to strengthen their financial
background. For example, consider a student whose family income is half of his
tuition fee then part-time work helps him in fulfilling this requirement.
Working part-time for a reasonable wage which can fund his education also helps him
with the ability to multi-task. A person can learn how to do more than one thing at
a time. Developing this quality will also help him in cracking various interviews.
Finally, working when in university helps a student to develop decision-making
ability. For example, Assume a student working as an associate to a senior person
at a consultancy which deals with many customer interactions. General decisions in
some cases with customers are taken by the senior, if the senior is absent then the
student should take on the task and do critical thinking to solve the problem. This
way a part-time job helps a student.
One may argue that working part-time while studying can hamper the student's
academic growth which may not be true in all the cases.
In conclusion, a student can work part-time to fund his education. This helps him
to be independent and helps in improving qualities like decision-making, multi-
tasking, and many others.

School policies should be based as much on what employers want as well as what
students and teachers want.
positives: ultimate goal of a student is settling so employer choice is to be
considered enough for better job opportunities later, student interest is
important, teachers also need hassle free environment.
negatives:
--------
Education is a weapon to change the world. Early education plays a important role
in students life. A childs mind can be nutured well for the future in his early
days of schooling. So, it is crucial that a school policies should be in such a way
that it helps students to develop in all the required areas as well as these rules
should be helpful in settling down the student under a employer after he completes
his education. School policies should also take in to consideration of teacher's
perspective as they are main pillars in shaping the young minds. So, I agree with
the statement that employers, staff and students opinions should be prioritized
while developing certain pre-determined rules for a school to function.
First of all, every school's ultimate target is prove its standard by placing as
many number of students as possible. For this, employers who visit the campus for
hiring will expect some infrastructure and also some subjects that a student should
be aware of before offering him a job. Considering this employer requirements also
needs to be satisfied by the school policies. For example, if a employer visits a
school for offering job opportunities and he want students who already have a basic
knowledge in using different softwares in a computer, to meet this demand of the
employer, a school should have designed its curriculum, syllabus and policies which
would make the students aware of this requirement.
Second of all, a student's perspective of what he wants from a school is the
foremost aspect. Every student will not be the same and they do have different
expectations from school. A school should conduct surveys in and around its
locality on this issue and then draw a conclusion. For example, if a hundred
students were asked which type of teaching they would prefer, either a teacher
based or computer based. From this results a school can decide which method should
it implement.
In conclusion, school policies should be designed in such a way that it satisfies
the employer, the student, and the teacher. The prespectives of all these people
combined will reduce the discrepancies encounteres earlier with the school
policies.

In business, education, and government, it is always appropriate to remain
skeptical of new leaders until those leaders show that they are worthy of trust.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree
with the claim. In developing and supporting your position, be sure to address the
most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your
position.
-----------
A leader can influence, inspire and guide people in right direction for the
development. Every other person cannot be a successful leader. His decisions,
problem solving abilities, critical thinking, and so on are required. Perhaps, a
new leader cannot be trusted in his early days after taking the position. A
leader's skill need to be persuaded to understand his abilities and how efficient
he can be. A leader gains trust from others by solving or bringing in revolutionary
ideas that will change the entire course of the business, education, or a
government.
Firstly, being a leader for a particular business is hectic task where he needs to
cope up the ups and downs of the shares invested, take steps to prevent further
worsening of the business, come up with creative solutions to everyday tasks to
standout in the crowd. So, people should be skeptical about a new leader in this
industry till they gain trust by his decisions or good work he does. For example,
consider a leader for the association of all the pharmacies in a particular town
where he need to satisfy the needs of all pharmacy heads and also take the business
in this field to greater heights with his wise decisions to gain trust.
secondly, leaders in education having greater responsibility as they have to take
care of aspects of designing or revising a existing curriculum. So staff and
mentors of the educational institutions need to be questioning the ideas and
principles he want to take forward. Because, a career of a student is relyed on the
institutional changes taking place. So, the leader's decision needs to be a
reliable one. To know its positives and negatives, staff should question his
idealogy as they have certain idea how a child would react to certain changes. For
example,
