Education is one of the vital aspects of one’s life.
It makes a person able to reach his
worth as an existing being. It creates wonderful chances for man to discover more himself and abide with many varied changes that are happening around him. With education, man finds fulfillment in answering the many queries of the world. Education is life. However, despite of this wonderful reality, education took and is still taking drastic changes from the very beginning when it first started until now that we are in this kind of crisis the covid -19 pandemic which abruptly changed our old normal to knew normal class in the school. Before the pandemic begin, we do face to face classes, pupils go to school, learn at the school from their teacher, they can mingle with their classmates and friends and also to their teacher. But just like a snap of a finger suddenly things changed. As I look back and think about the old normal, I realized a lot of things, that makes me sad. Before it’s very easy to teach, we can give instruction that they can easily follow, we want them to learn from our lesson that is why as a teacher we need to provide an instructional material for them, as a teacher we want them to learn as much as we want to, we cater all their questions and answer it in the best way that we can. Before we can use different learning strategies that will cater/benefit each need because of their differences and that is our duty as a teacher to give our pupils a comfortable and convenient learning place. But this time of pandemic everything has changed, after the opening of classes I asked myself “is it possible? How things may work? Are those modules will be enough for them to be able to learn? During the first month of Modular Leaning, I almost gave up, because some of my pupils are not answering their worksheets, and how will they cope up for the next modules? So I came up a decision wherein I need to exert effort for them and also I want them to learn something from me as their teacher during this time of new normal class not just reading their modules not just answering their worksheets but something they will enjoy and make fun so I decided to make a group chat of parents and pupils wherein we can communicate and have a little discussion about their topic so that I can explain and give comprehensive instructions that they can follow easily sometimes I make video lesson so that they can easily understand their lesson we do also online kumustahan to check their progress on our lesson. That ‘s how I handle or I would rather say we handle our School Year 2020-2021 with so much pride that even with this time of covid -19 pandemic quality education has been strengthen and more meaningful for me and for my pupils.
