Explain This Utilizing The Methodological Pyramid

The document discusses the methodological pyramid and its three parts: data collection methods at the top with the least volume, research methodologies in the middle, and fundamental principles at the bottom with the largest volume. It then explains that the researcher used a performance-influencing assessment questionnaire and interviews for data collection due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The researcher believes this is an appropriate approach given the research focus on project management and project success. A probability sampling technique was used where each unit has an equal chance of being selected for the quantitative research. Experts answering the questionnaire were required to have experience with building projects in Metro Manila and backgrounds in construction management.

What data collection methods and sampling techniques did you employ? Why choose these methods?

 Explain
this utilizing the methodological pyramid.

Before answering the question, I will discuss first the methodological pyramid. In the
methodological pyramid, it was divided into 3 parts: the top part of the pyramid with the least
volume is the data collection methods, the middle part is the research methodologies and the
bottom part which comprise the biggest volume of the pyramid is the fundamental principle.

For the selection of the best fit methodology of a particular research project, it must also concur
with the fundamental philosophies of the research project. As observed on similar research
studies and proposals that the research methodologies were able to support the research studies.
The main concepts of the research will be implicated by the research methodology. Therefore, it
is very important to extensively study the appropriate data gathering method.

For my research paper, the data collection method that I will be employing is the utilization of a
performance-influencing assessment questionnaire and interview that will be the preliminary
process for the development factor extraction processes, validity and reliability, analysis, and
modeling of the data gathered. It is the convenient method of collecting data due to this new
normal pandemic phenomenon of COVID 19. I believe since the primary focus is the project
management viewpoint of project success, there are no requirements for conducting experiments
and social research approach in dealing with this research project. Thus, is it an appropriate
approach to interview phonecall and spread the assessment questionnaire (with the aid of five (5)
point Likert Scale) through emails and other platforms of social media

The probability sampling technique because the research design is a quantitative research
wherein each individual or unit has an equal chance to be chosen and to be included in the
sample of the population was the chosen sampling technique. Moreover, the rule of probability
sampling is based on the theories of mathematics and statistics. Also, the experts who will be
answering the assessment questionnaire have required a set of categories and requirements: it
had the experience to complete building project in Metro Manila, at least 10 years of experience
in vertical projects and have profound background on construction management and site
operation.
