Answer any FIVE Questions
(5 X 20 = 100 Marks)

1. a) Use nodal analysis to determine the node voltages for the circuit of figure.1. [10]

b) Find the Norton’s equivalent circuit of the network as shown in figure.2. [10]
And also find current through load resistance 10 Ω,

2. a) Find the Thevenin’s equivalent circuit of the network as shown in figure.3. And also find [10]
current through load resistance R 20 Ω, 50 Ω.

b) A series circuit has a resistance of 15Ω with inductance 10mH and a capacitance of 25µF [10]
connected in series across 200V, 50 Hz supply. Find the values of impedance, current,
voltage drop across each component, power factor and power. Also draw the phasor
diagram.

3. a) Using complex power definition, calculate the real and reactive power for the load shown in [10]

Fig.4 and also VL. Assume Vs = 110∠0 V; RS = 2 Ω, RL = 5 Ω, C = 2,000 µF and f=60 Hz.

b) i) Design a relevant combinational logic circuit to add three bits. [6]

ii) With a neat block diagram explain the organization of a digital computer. [4]

4. a) Explain the 4 in 1 MUX & 1 in 4 DEMUX with necessary logic circuits & truth table. [10]

b) Simplify the given expression using K-map and realize the function using logic gates. [10]

5. a) Explain the working of normally-on type MOSFET with necessary diagrams. [10]

b) Describe in detail the operation and V-I characteristics of diode which conducts in reverse [10]
region with neat sketch. Also state its application.

6. a) Explain the types of DC generators. Write their terminal voltage equations and draw their [10]
circuit diagrams.

b) i) Explain Self and Mutual Inductance. [4]

ii) Derive the emf equation of the transformer. [6]
