Logic gates are used in digital circuits to implement Boolean algebra operations. Operating systems support basic computer functions like running apps, scheduling tasks, and controlling peripherals. Examples of operating systems include Mac OS, Windows, and Linux. Input devices like keyboards and mice bring data into the system, while output devices such as monitors and printers send data out. Serial and parallel are types of data transmission, and HTML is a language used to make websites. USB ports and drives allow connection and transfer of data between devices using USB cables. Computer security involves functions and protocols to check internet activity and protect systems and data.

Logic Gates:

Operating system: The software that supports a computer's basic functions such
as executing apps, scheduling tasks and controlling peripherals.
- Mac = Jaguar, Puma, Tiger, Lion, cheetah, panther, leopard
- Windows = windows xp, windows vista, windows 7, window 8, windows 8.1,
windows 10
- Linux = ubuntu, kubuntu, fedora, deepin, arch linux

Input & output devices: input & output devices allows the computer to interact with the
outside world by moving data in and out of the system.

Input devices: Used to bring data into the system.

Examples = keyboard, mouse, microphone, barcode reader, graphics tablet

Output devices: used to send data out of the system:

Examples = Monitor, printer, projector, speaker

Serial = only one way

Parallel = can be back and forth

lHTML = Hypertext Markup Language which is a language that helps to make a website.

Data transmission = the process of sending digital or analog data over a communication
medium to one or more computing, network, communication or electronic devices.

● Simplex = refers to one way

communication where one is the
transmitter and the other is the receiver .
Example = radio broadcasting,
television broadcasting, computer to
printer communication, and
keyboard to computer connections.
● Half duplex = refers to two way
communication where only one party can
transmit at a time.
Example = walkie-talkie, wherein one
must use "Over" or another
previously designated keyword to
indicate the end of transmission, and
ensure that only one party transmits at a time, because both parties transmit and
receive on the same frequency.
● Duplex = a point-to-point system composed of two or more connected parties or
devices that can communicate with one another in both directions.
Example: Our phone.

USB: Universal Serial Bus

● USB port- A USB port is a standard cable connection interface for personal
computers and consumer electronics devices. USB ports allow USB
devices to be connected to each other with and transfer digital data over
USB cables
● USB drive- The main purpose of a flash drive is to provide storage. USB
flash drives hold a variety of amounts of data, such as 2GB or more. USB
drives are an external way to organize files, instead of taking up valuable
storage space on your computer.

Computer Security
MAC = Media Access Control

+ R -> CMD -> ipconfig/all

+ R -> CMD ->ipconfig

IP = Internet Protocol
Function = a rule to check the internet activity
IP lvl 4 (have 5 classes):
- A= 1 - 127
- B= 128 - 197
- C= 192 - 223
- D= 224 - 239
- E= 240 - 254

URL = Uniform Resource Locator

To locate website address
https = Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure
- It is used for secure communication over a computer network, and is widely used
on the Internet.
Http = Hypertext Transfer Protocol
- set of rules for transferring files, such as text, graphic images, sound, video, and
other multimedia files, on the World Wide Web.

- Function : the main purpose of a cookie is to ensure the Site operates more
efficiently and to enable certain functions. Cookies are used to improve global
navigation for Users. In particular, They make browsing from one page to another
on the Site much smoother.
MAC address: Media Access Control Address
- A MAC address is a hardware identification number that uniquely identifies each
device on a network.

Computer Virus
What is it?
a piece of code which is capable of copying itself and typically has a detrimental effect, such as
corrupting the system or destroying data.

Common Computer Virus:

- Malware
Monitors your internet activity
- VBS (visual basic script)
A program that create using visual basic script
- Trojan
Attack system (directly)
- Worm
Hacking : the activity to get any information from the networking system.014+]0]047

PHOTOSHOP
What is it?
Photoshop is a software for editing photos.

MICROSOFT ACCESS
Learning out come = intro to microsoft access
Learning activity = students will learn how to make a database design using microsoft
access.

● Database is a set of data held in a computer that is accessible in various ways.

● Database management system is a set of computer programs that controls the
creation,maintenance and the use of database in the computer by the user.
● Table is a collection of related information in a form of rows and columns.
● Record is a complete information that is arranged horizontally in a table. (row)
● Field is a column that is arranged vertically in a table that stores the information
of the same type. (column)
Function of DBMS:
1. Reduces data redundancy ( duplication of data)
2. Facilitates sharing of data
3. Controls data inconsistency
4. Enforces standards
5. Ensures data security
6. Maintain integrity

Examples:
❖ Oracle database
❖ MySQL
❖ IBM
❖ Microsoft access
❖ InterBase
❖ Ingres
