ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
(NARRATIVE AND PICTORIALS)
ON THE CONDUCT OF CAPACITY BUILDING ON CHILD PROTECTION POLICY FOR
PUPILS AND PARENTS AT MABILOG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL S.Y. 2020-2021

Children are the most vulnerable members of the society. They are easy victims of
violence, abuse, and exploitation because of their physical and mental immaturity. These can
happen anytime and anywhere. As such, they need special safeguards and care, including legal
protection. The Philippine constitution which shall the rights of the children to assistance,
including proper care and nutrition, and protection from all forms of neglect, abuse exploitation
and other conditions prejudicial to their development.

The department of Education issued DepEd Order No. 40 s. 2012, also known as the
Deped Child Protection Policy. This is a set of guidelines in ensuring the protection of school
children who are gravely threatened or endangered by circumstances which affect their normal
development over which they have control and to assist the concerned agency in their
rehabilitation.

In the said order, schools are directed to conduct appropriate training and capacity
building activities on child protection measures and protocols (section 7.1) in lieu with this
Mabilog Elementary School conducted a virtual meeting through google meet to meet the
building training on DepEd’s Child Protection Policy on January 12, 2021 from 3 o’clock in the
afternoon. Salient topics that were discussed include Right and Obligation of the Child, Bullying
and Law Governing Children Policy.

School Child Protection Policy


I. INTRODUCTION
COVID 19 can quickly change the context in which children live Now a day,
our environment is not safe from harm especially our children. Being the second parent to our
pupils, we need to do something to improve Child Protection Policy. Let us begin to recognize
that the child’s interest is the best way to deal with. Child protection has a measure and structure
to prevent and respond to abuse, neglect and violence affecting children in all settings. It is
necessarily to ensure children’s right to survival, development and well-being in all settings at all
times.

II. VISION
Mabilog Elementary School aims to protect children from all forms of violence,
abuse, maltreatment and discrimination. The school also aims for the right of the children to
Education. It also envisions Children to become the top priority of every learning institution to
develop the full potential of the child.

III. MISSION
To set measures in encouraging every children to attend school and have a regular
attendance to reduce drop-out rates and to have a zero percent rate of abuse children. To protect
children from abuse, and build awareness and empower young adults with a positive future.

IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


A. A CHILD’S WELFARE
 Pupils health and safety
 School attendance and absence
 Allow to participate in such a way they are enjoying and working with their interest.
 Concern for other person’s welfare.
 Respect for other person’s rights and choices.

B. A DESIGNATED TEACHER RESPONSIBLE FOR DEALING WITH CHILD


PROTECTION
 Regular training in accordance to normal training practice.
 To know the existence, purpose, contents of a “child protection procedure”.
 To refer suspected or actual child abuse cases to the appropriate services and through the
proper channels.
 Exercise special parental authority and responsibility over the child while under their
supervision, instruction and custody.
 Keep children in their company and educate and instruct them by being a good example.
 Inculcate the value of respect and obedience.
 Give them love and affection, advice and counsel, companionship and understanding.
 Protect their health at all times.
 Expose them in a wholesome surrounding by using appropriate educational materials,
supervised activities, protect from bad company to prevent them from acquiring bad
habits.
 Practice positive and non-violent discipline.

C. HEAD OF SCHOOL
 Give to all school staff adequate initial and on-going training in the identification of cases
and in handling of child abuse disclosure.
 Give instructions to all school staff on the application of the safety protocols
 Provide prevention programs regarding child abuse.
 Ensure that the school adopts a Child Protection Policy.
 Organize the Child Protection Committee.
 Conducts disciplinary proceedings in cases of offenses committed by children.
 Maintain a record of all proceedings related to child abuse.
 Coordinate with appropriate offices and agencies for assistance and intervention.

TITLE : “The Child’s Welfare and Protection”


School Child Protection Policy

A. MEANING
As we face our new normal situation, we are all facing multiple new stresses It is a
program that intended to prevent, respond and structure to abuse, neglect, exploitation,
discrimination and violence among children.

B. PROVISION
Mabilog Elementary School is an institution that provides love and respect for
humankind, teach the right and duties of citizenship, develop ethical and moral values, uplift
the character and discipline among children, teachers and parents.

C. SANCTION OF CONSCIOUSNESS
The School in collaboration with the Teachers and Parents including Barangay
Officials will ensure and provide the best for the children.We always make sure the
safetiness of our learners with the amidst situation, that all actions and decisions made are
always within the interest of children. By means of adapting the policy for providing special
protection to children. That is to ensure the future of every individual we are dealing with by
providing them the love, care and protection.
