The Sims 2 is part of the popular life-simulation video game series published by Electronic Arts
in 2004. Just like the PC version, the PS2 edition of The Sims 2 has cheat codes and secret
locations that can only be discovered by completing certain tasks. Learn how to keep your Sims
alive and happy for as long as possible.

These cheats are exclusively for the PlayStation 2 version. There are separate cheat codes
for The Sims 2 on PC.

How to Unlock the Sims 2 Cheat Gnome

To use cheat codes, activate the Cheat Gnome. To do so, pause the game and enter L1, R1, Up,
X, R2 on the PS2 controller. The Cheat Gnome appears by your mailbox outside your home.
After you input additional codes, you can talk to him to activate the corresponding cheats.

After activating the Cheat Gnome, input these codes using the PS2 controller.

To see a photo of the development team, enter Right, Down, Right, Down, Right at the title
screen.

How to Live Alone

If you like your alone time, get a job for all the Sims that live with you, then use the cheat that
advances the clock when they are about to come home from work to throw off their schedules. If
exploited correctly, this cheat can help you avoid your roommates as much as possible.

Unlock Secret Locations in The Sims 2 on PS2

Follow these steps to unlock secret locations:

Alien Crash To find the Bio Dome lot, make the alien XY-XY Smith friends with Jonas and
Site complete all of his requests.
Cliffside
Make Isabella Monty happy and fulfill any of her wishes.
Retreat
Fulfill Betty Buttercup's requests (like to marry Captain Nelson) until she's Platinum
HMS Amore
so that she'll tell you the next location.
To find Alien Crash Site, fulfill Toothless Joe's dreams until the Sim gets an
aspiration called Visit New Location. Return to Tranquility Falls so that your
Jugen House
aspiration changes to Help Chantal. Keep completing her desires until she's
Platinum.
To find Tranquility Falls, befriend Red S and give him some food. Move back to
Sunset Canyon and make Helga fall in love with and marry Red S. With Red S now
Orbit Room
living there, do whatever is necessary to boost his mood to Platinum so that he'll tell
you where to find Tranquility Falls.
Shoreline Purchase a foosball table and beat Torin to complete the Beat Torin at Foosball
Trails request when it becomes available.
Sunset Resurrect Sheila, Billy, and Helga, then build a kitchen, clean up the mess, construct
Canyon a bathroom, and give all three of them beds. They'll tell you the next location.
Tranquility To find Jugen House, fulfill all of Chantal's and Larry's wants to push them into a
Falls Platinum mood.

How to Satisfy Hunger

Hunger is the one need that can kill your Sim if it's not satisfied. To get free food, buy an item
that can have food harvested from it, harvest the food, then sell it back so that you can buy
another.

If you're low on money, sell some of your kitchen supplies such as the refrigerator and stove.
From that money, buy a Fruit Punch Barrel to satisfy your hunger.

Here are more tips to find food and fulfill hunger:

 The Frood Tree harvests some fruits.

 The GenoLife Garden Hutch harvests some vegetables.
 The Sproutch Couch harvests dangleberries.
 The Manilla 1000 Aquarium harvests fish.
 Make a meal with beef, pork, potatoes, and lamb to quickly fulfill hunger even with a low
cooking skill.
 The Chicken Checkers game gives golden eggs.
 More expensive refrigerators carry more food and add more hunger satisfaction.

Adding llama to any meal will make your Sim sick, so do your best to avoid this food.

 Cheat Menu and Cheats

To get to the cheat menu, at the main menu screen Simultaneously press all four of the
shoulder buttons. From the cheat menu, you can enter the following cheats:

FISH EYE; In game, press O to change walls. When the

First Person View walls are gone, press O again to change to a 1st person
view.

Glitches
 Easy Money

Build a wall and put wallpaper on one side and leave the other side blank. Then select the
wallpaper as if you were going to sell it. Switch over to the other side of the wall and sell
that. You'll get the money for the wallpaper selected and it will still be there so you can
keep selling the wallpaper.

 The Park 2-Player Game

In order to get this unlockable, you must greet and feed Bobo the Bum. He doesn't come
up to your door by himself, but on stages 3-5, he will walk down your neighborhood a
few times a day. With your main Sim, greet Bobo. then, use Feed. Then, you'll pay 20
simoleons to give Bobo a meal and unlock The Park.

  Unlock the criminal career path

In order to unlock the criminal career path in all modes, successfully prevent a thief from
getting away in Get a Life mode. It helps to have a burglar alarm system installed.

Easter Eggs
 Always-On-Duty Monkey Butler

This glitch, or cheat, or whatever you would like to refer to it as, I found very useful. This
glitch will involve, 'Meet Major Domo!{$15,000} ', a light (one that hangs from the wall,
not on the floor){$85, $110, $135} , and anything that will fit under the light{?} . Now, I
did this in the bathroom with a sink and a 'Blue Plate Special Sconce' light {$135}. Buy
'Meet Major Domo!' but don't release him yet. Place the wall light fixture over the other
item, and wait for the light to burn out, (or you can put lot of lights over a lot of other
items and wait for one of them to burn out). Then, release the monkey butler, he will
clean up everything, fix everything, then he will go to the light hanging on the wall, but
he won't be able to reach it because of the item on the floor, which blocks his way. So he
will stay there trying to figure out how to get to the light, but, as long as you don't move
the item under the light, or the light itself, he will stay there. And as soon as something
else needs to be fixed or cleaned up, he'll do it. Although this may cause traffic jams
when you try and get into the room, I found this glitch very rewarding.

 Make Aromaster Whifferpuff ''Gold'' last longer.

When in neiborhood mode, if you turn on a Whifferpuff, and evict the person and then
join again. The Whifferpuff will still be on and it will last longer.

  The Sims CAMEO

Buy any computer and choose"play". Zoom in close to the computer or better yet put in
the first person code and look at the monitor. You will see that your sim is actually
playing the original Sims for the computer!

Secrets
 Get abducted to increase stats!

Just purchase the telescope and after looking through it for a long time you will be
abducted by aliens. If your children get abducted their grades will go up!! When you are
returned to earth you your stats will have been rearranged and have been incresed!!

 Secret sand sculptures

In order to do this trick, please do the following:

1. Go to buy mode and buy the beach simulator under the misc. menu.
2. Place anywhere and let a child make a pile.
3. After making a big pile, choose 'kick'
4. This will unlock a new sand sculpture.

If you want more unique sculptures, such as castles and turtles, make a big pile again and
choose 'kick'
