Tango-type tram-train

for Aarhus Letbane I/S, Denmark

Aarhus Letbane I/S has awarded the contract for the implementation of its
light rail vehicle (LRV) project to the ASAL Consortium (Ansaldo STS, GCF
and Stadler). Stadler won the tender to supply 24 vehicles: 12 Variobahn
low-floor trams and 12 Tango low-floor light rail vehicles. The Tango-type
tram-trains supplied by Stadler for city and suburban traffic in Aarhus are
modern, multiple-unit, 100% low-floor vehicles with a modular design. By
fitting the rotating assembly of the bogie down low and arranging the drive
on the outside, it was possible to construct the tram-train as a 100% low- Stadler Altenrhein AG
