Instruction: Answer the following questions listed below.
1. Let’s recall your Senior High/Junior High school. What kind of evaluations does your subject
teachers has given to your outputs? Describe how do the evaluation strategies/activities that link
the evaluation from its purpose.
Back in my Junior High and Senior High school years, teachers evaluate their students
through recitations, quizzes, and exams. Another way of evaluating their students, specifically on
science subject is through experiment activities and writing the reflection afterwards.
2. How effective is the online quiz to students during the new normal?
Online quiz makes me active in engaging the course material. The quizzes made me pay
more attention to the readings. They forced me to go back and reread certain parts of the
chapters.

3. During the new normal scheme (today), What kind of evaluations does your instructors has
given to your outputs? Describe how do the evaluation strategies/activities that link the
evaluation from its purpose.
Just like what happens on face to face classes, evaluations are held through quizzes and
exams. There is enough time to answer the questions with the use of online platforms like
Edmodo.

This picture shows equality for everybody to get picked. It also shows that success comes from
hard work. However, there is no fairness in the qualification because as what the picture shows,
only the monkey and the bird can climb up the tree. The other animals can’t do it.

In this picture, it shows the mothers concern for her the daughter and also a way of assessing her
daughter.

Answer the following metacognitive guide questions.

1. How would you agree or disagree with the article?


This article really speaks the truth a an eye opener of what happening right now in this
new normal way of learning. Just like what Grace said, instead of learning, complying
becomes a must just to pass, which results the students to look for someone who can do
their work because of overload works and deadline.

2. How did you determine that this article is true?


Base on my experience as a student, I know how hard it is to comply with those
workloads in time. I also know the feeling how difficult it is to learn all by myself unlike
in face to face classes. That’s why there is a great possibility that this article is true where
students pay others to their works.

3. Why do you think this works? Does it always? Why?


It works because of the needs of the students to comply in time and pass their subjects or
courses. However because of this scheme, the students become dependent to others work
rather than theirs. They don't try on their own anymore because they are already relying
on the work of others. This way, they won’t learn. For me, there will be a time that this
scheme will not work anymore. Also there is a possibility that after the others read this
article, they will try it until less and less are becoming customers and scammers will
joined in.
4. Based from the article, what is the difference of an assessment “as learning” from an
assessment “of learning”?
Assessment as learning helps students to take more responsibility for their own learning
and monitoring future directions, while the assessment of learning is designed to provide
evidences of achievement to parents, other educators and the students themselves.

5. How does this relate to your daily occurrences during the pandemic era while studying?
The only thing that I can say is this pandemic era changes a lot of things. I’ve learn how
to assess and manage my own of what should I prioritize first. Learning online with daily
occurrences is actually depends on the person how responsible he/she is on doing what
matters the most.
