Module Paper 2
“Gender Equality” and “Feminism” favors women.
I. INTRODUCTION
Gender Equality and Feminism has become a stereotype to where a person who
supports the said “movements” are just basically favoring women and giving them the
entitlement of demanding more of what they get. This paper’s agenda is to prove the
stereotype wrong with facts that shows the true meaning and goal of Gender Equality
and Feminism.
II. DISCUSSION
The true meaning of Gender Equality and Feminism is to support having fair
judgment between Men and Women. But unfortunately, according to peacecorps.gov
(N.D), opportunities are more unlikely given to women as well as it’s also men that
has better access to higher education and has more political representation. This is
why “Women Empowerment” has a huge importance in attaining the goal of Gender
Equality hence the stereotypes.
Gender Equality is also the 5th Sustainable Development Goals of United Nations
because according to un.org (DEC.2020), half of the world’s population is women,
meaning that they are also half of the world’s potential. These campaigns sound
women centered but only because it is them that are mostly deprived of rights and
protection from the society.
Movements and Campaigns like these not only focuses on issues about giving fair
rights and opportunities. They also give attention to the relationship between men
and women in the society. Giving them a fair say and that their opinions are all valid.
III. SLOGAN AND TAGLINE
The slogan portrays the fact that everyone is an essential to the world’s success.
Meaning that if a part of it is being left behind and deprived, a better future will slow or worse,
won’t come.
IV. LEARNING INSIGHTS.
This course has taught me and added knowledge to what I think is Gender and
Society about. It also somehow gave me pointers of how I can prove myself as not only
be part but also be a good influence to society. I am an LGBTQ+ Community ally but I
didn’t really know anything much about it. The course enlightened me of what it truly
means and how support them without stepping on other. This also gave me the
chance and the knowledge of educating others to what the relationship of Gender and
Society is.
