Lesson 1: Beware… Be aware…(Intentional Injuries)

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson the learners can be able to:
a. Differentiate intentional injuries from unintentional injuries;
b. Describe the types of intentional injuries;

II. Subject Matter:


a. Topic: Beware…. Be aware! (Intentional injuries)
b. Materials: Projector, Laptop, and Learners Module (p. 371-386).

III. Procedure:
a. Prayer
b. Checking of Attendance
c. Motivation: Let the students watch the video clip you have prepared and let them
answer the following questions:
1. What the video is all about?
2. What is the effect of bullying to the life of the person?
3. Bullying belongs to what type of injury?
4. Who can define the meaning of Intentional Injuries?
5. What is the difference of Intentional Injuries to Unintentional Injuries?
d. Presentation of the Topic:
Base on the clip had you watched, our topic for today is about “Intentional Injuries”.
e. Lesson Proper: Teacher will discuss the following:
Intentional Injuries: e. Gang and Youth
1. Self-inflicted Violence
a. Suicide f. Fraternity
b. Para suicide g. Kidnapping and
2. Assault abduction
a. Domestic Violence h. Acts of Terror
b. Bullying i. Verbal Abuse
c. Stalking j. Sexual Abuse (Incest,
d. Extortion Molestation and Rape)

IV. Application: The students will be divided into 5 groups and each group will choose one of the
intentional injuries and they will going to perform the role playing using the example of the intentional
injuries that they have choose.
V. Generalization:
Let the students answer the following questions;
1. What is the difference of intentional injuries to unintentional injuries?
2. What are the two classifications of intentional injuries?
3. Who can enumerate the examples of self-inflicted intentional injuries?
4. How about the examples of assault?

VI. Evaluation:
Let the students answer the summative test on page 414-417 of the learning module.

VII. Assignment:
Define the following articles of The Convention on the Rights of the Child.
1. Article 9
2. Article 34
3. Article 35
