MAPEH 10

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the student can be able to;
a. Appreciate the value of dancing in the improvement and maintenance of their health fitness;
b. Create movements in coming up with their own cheerdance routines through improvisation; and
c. Describe the nature, movements and health benefits of cheerdancing.
II. Subject Matter
a. Topic: Cheerdance
b. Reference: P.E. and Health LM (p. 177-180)
c. Materials; laptop and projector
III. Developmental Activity:
A. Pre-activity
a. Prayer
 Choose one student to lead the prayer.
b. Mood Setting
 Who among you here who loves dancing?
c. Review
 Speaking of dance, can you still recall the types of hip-hop dance?
d. Motivation
 Let the students arrange the following jumbled letters to form the correct words.
1. Eerch- to shout out words or phrases that may help motivate and boost the morale of a
playing team and perform better during a game.
2. Edacn- a physical activity where one expresses emotions or gestures while performing
bodily movements usually in time with rhythm.
3. Ceerhelingd-the performance of a routine, usually dominated by gymnastic skills such as
jumps, tumbling skills, lifts and tosses combined shouting of cheers and yells to lead the
crowd to cheer for a certain team during a game or sport.
4. Wol lascp- arms extended straight down, in a clasp and slightly in front of the body.
5. Bgienning stnce- feet together, hands down with the side in blades.
B. Lesson Proper
a. Topic Presentation:
 Do you have an idea now if what is our topic for today?
 For this lesson, we will going to discuss about “Cheerdance”.
b. Activity:
 Group yourselves into four.
 A cheerdance music will be played. Together with your group, think of steps, preferably
cheerdance steps Together with your group, think of steps, preferably cheerdance steps, and
execute them in accordance with the beat given. Create a combination of about four 8s. Do this
in five minutes.
 Present your work to the class.
c. Analysis:
1. Assemble in columns by group.
2. What where the dance presentations you performed about.
3. How could you performed better?
4. Are there other combinations which you can perform to add dynamics to your cheerdance routine?
5. How can student like you benefit from performing cheerdance?
d. Discussion:
Discuss the following to students:

IV. Abstraction:
Let the students answer the following question:
1. Who can enumerate three arms or hand movements in cheerdancing?
2. Who can give me the different types of jumps in cheerdancing?
3. What are the different levels of pyramid in cheerdance?
4. What is the importance of dance to the lives of the people?
5. How can we improve our health through dancing?
V. Application:
Students will be divided into 4 groups and each group will create a 2 minutes Cheerdance routine.
