environment.
2. Pollution – The action of making the air, water, land etc. dirty and dangerous is
called pollution.
3. Reduce – It means to minimize the amount of waste we create.
4. Reuse – It refers to using items more than once.
5. Recycle – It means putting a product to a new use instead of throwing it away.

1. Write two ways by which air gets polluted ?


Air gets polluted in the following ways :-
1. Burning of plastic, garbage and wood.
2. Smoke from vehicles and factories.
3. Bursting of firecrackers.
4. Coughing or sneezing without covering one’s mouth.
2. Write two things that cause water pollution ?
The two things that cause water pollution are :-
1. Dumping of waste from houses and factories into water bodies
2. Bathing of people and animals in ponds, lakes and rivers.
3. Washing clothes and utensils in water bodies.

3. Write three ways to control land pollution ?
Three ways to control land pollution are as follows :-
1. Throw waste in dustbins.
2. Use natural manure to improve the soil.
3. Plant more trees.
4. How can we control noise pollution ?
We can control noise pollution in the following ways :-
1. Plant trees that absorb sounds.
2. Avoid unnecessary honking.
3. Watch television or listen to music on a low volume.

1. Where will you get fresh air – in a park or in a crowded market ? Give
reasons.

I will get fresh air in a park because it has more trees and more green area.
There is also a lot of open space in a park.
