I was denied access to blackboard learning due to difficulty in exchanging naira for dollar
so I can complete my tuition fee due to the economic recession in Nigeria. This was so
frustrating and hectic for me because I missed out on a lot of class activities for two weeks
which was a very long time. After all, now I have a lot of accumulated assignments and projects
which I need to submit. It’s overwhelming for me and this made me emotionally down.
I developed communication skills with peers as I kept communicating with my classmates via
Whatsapp so that I can be updated with class activities in which the network in my country
hindered my communication with peers as a result of bad network signals. I felt left out at a
payment, but on the other hand, this made me stronger and courageous as I now see solutions
in every problem in life. With God all things are possible and what God cannot do does not exist.
Keeping in touch with my classmates helped me to be updated with class activities which
I had my tuition fee in naira but I was faced with the challenge of exchanging naira for a dollar
due to the economic situation in my country Nigeria which led to the scarcity of dollars, a very
frustrating experience.
I plan to open a domiciliary account so I can fund it with dollars to avoid a delay in payment of
my tuition fee because I don’t wish to pass through this trauma anymore.
I was surprised and confused when I was blocked from accessing blackboard learning because
I initially paid 5000dollar which was above 70% of my tuition fee for the semester and I also
notified the school via mail that I had difficulty making payment. This made me very sad, hurting
I discovered that I am privileged and opportune to study in Canada because there are lots of
people that do not have this privilege and opportunity to study outside Nigeria because they
for a grace period to allow the individual to make payment to avoid blocking,
