REGULATIONS & NOTES GOVERNING THE PRESENTATION AND BINDING OF


FINAL YEAR ENGINEERING PROJECT REPORT

1. SIZE OF PAPER A4
2. NUMBER OF COPIES 02
3. LAYOUT OF SCRIPT
Typescript should appear on one side only with a line spacing of 1.5 inches. Footnotes, quotations,
references and photographic caption may be single spaced.
4. MARGINS (Text)
 Left-hand side margin 3.0 cm.
 Top margin 3.0 cm.
 Bottom margin 2.5 cm.
 The page number should appear at the top center, 1 cm below the edge of the paper. 
 The chapter number should preferably be in double width characters, be 2 cm below the top edge
and left aligned with the text. 
 The chapter title should be placed in the middle, 2.5 cm below the top edge. Bold letters should be
used. Suitable gap should appear between the chapter title and the first line of the text. 
 Side headings, article numbers, etc. should all be left aligned and in bold face. 

6. TITLE PAGE
All reports must contain a title page giving the title of the report, the author’s name and roll number,
supervisor(s)’ Name(s), and the month and year of submission.
 External Title Page (Sample given on page 2) 

 Internal Title Page (Sample given on page 3) 

7. ABSTRACT
An Abstract of the report not more than about ½ to ¾ of a page must be included immediately after the
title page.
8. LENGHT OF THE REPORT
Project Reports should normally NOT exceed 100 pages of text.
9. BINDING
All Project Reports must be in a hard-bound form in NAVY BLUE color. No other forms of binding
shall be acceptable. Hard binding should use NAVY BLUE cloth with golden letters on it.
