INTRODUCTION
 This is a Software Requirements Specification(SRS)for
the Hospital Management System. It describes the
functions, goals and tasks that this system can perform.

 This is used to describe the scope of the project and to


plan for the hospital management System design and
implementation.

 The requirements can be classified into two


categories :
a) Functional requirements
b) Non-functional requirements.

 Functional requirements: Any requirement


which specifies what the system should do.

 Non-Functional requirements: Any requirement that


specifies how the system performs a certain function.
PURPOSE
 The purpose is to describe all the requirements for the
Hospital Management System. The following are some of
the stake holders:

• Administrative staff
• Doctors
• Nurses
• Surgeons
• Developers

 It maintains two levels of users:-

a) Administrator Level

b) User Level

 This software includes:

a) Maintaining Patient details.


b) Providing Prescription, Precautions and Diet advice.
c) Providing and maintaining all kinds of tests for a
patient
d) Billing and Report generation.
SCOPE
 It can be used in any Hospital, Clinic or Dispensary for
maintaining patient details and their test results.

 The system will be used to allocate beds to patients on a


priority basis, and to assign doctors to patients in
designated wards as need arises.

 This system can be used to get information from patients


then storing that data for future usage .

 The main motive of the system is use to reduce over time


pay and treat more number of patients that can be treated
accurately .
FUNCTIONAL

 REGISTRATION:-

1. Add patients : The system shall allow front-


desk staff to add new patients to the system.

2. Assign ID : The system shall allow the staff


to give each patient a ID and add it to the
patient’s record. This ID can be used by the
patient throughout their stay in hospital.

 ASSIGNING THE DOCTORS:-

1. Assign Doctor : The administrative staff in


the ward shall use system to assign a doctor to
a given patient.

2. Assign Nurse : The administration staff in


the ward shall use system to assign a nurse to
a given patient.

3. Inform Doctors : The system shall inform


doctors of new patients.

4. Generate Report : The system shall generate


the patient’s situation record every one hour
for patients.
REQUIRMENTS

 ASSIGNING THE WARD:-


1. Assign Ward : The consulting nurse shall use
system to assign the patient to an appropriate
ward.
2. Assign to Waiting List : The consulting nurse
shall use system to assign Patient to a waiting
list if no bed is available.

 Database:-
1. Patient Mandatory Information: Each patient shall have
the following mandatory information: first name, last
name, phone number, address, pin code, city, country,
patient identification number.

2. Update Patient Information: The system shall allow the


user to update any of the patient’s information Search for
Patient The system shall allow the user to search for
patient’s information by last name or PHN or patient ID.

3. Staff Information: Each staff in hospital


shall have the following mandatory information:
identification number, first name, last name, phone
number, address, postal code, city, country, employee
type, duty schedule.

4. Update Staff Information : The system shall allow the


user to update any of the staff’s information.

5. Ward Information : Each ward in system shall


include the following mandatory information: ward
name, ward number, list of rooms in ward.
 Check Out:-

1. Delete Patient ID: The


administrative staff in the ward
shall be allowed to delete the ID of
the patient from the system when
the patient checks out.

2. Add to beds-available list : The


administrative staff in the ward
shall be allowed to put the beds
just evacuated in beds-available
list.
