task? Task 1 is worth 1/3 and task 2 is worth 2/3.
So, if task 1 = 6 but task 2 is a 5, overall = 5.5
(6X.333 + 5X.667=1.998 + 3.335 =5,333)
OR
Task 1 =5 and task 2=7, so overall = 6.5

Important for
students
Important for students
• Students will need to expose themselves to as much English
as possible.
• There is paper based and computer based tests
• To move up ½ a point in IELTS one needs to study about
200 hours (when 5.5 and above )
• Need to learn how to write an overview for task 1
(graphs/tables/diagrams)
• DO NOT copy the question for the overview.
• Take the time to make an outline for your writing as it will
save time in the end and be more organized.
• Take the 1 minute to prepare for task 2 in speaking test!!!!
• Do as many practice reading tests as possible to work on
time management- many candidates don’t finish the last
reading –or start with the last reading.
