Realtek ATSC 3.0 Project Introduction

Realtek is working on an ATSC 3.0 project with iWedia to develop an ATSC 3.0 software stack. The initial scope was to create a standalone ATSC 3.0 library, but additional work was requested including Android integration, a web browser/server, and extending Realtek's existing ATSC application. The timeline was extended from April 2021 to February 2022. Key milestones include developing playback functionality, an EPG, and achieving conformance testing requirements. Potential risks include delays in formal acceptance of change requests from Realtek and ensuring all open source licenses are approved.
