Japan Apostille

Japan Apostille, means The Indian document used in Japan, It must be legalised by
the Ministry of External Affairs India. It is a special stamp called an Apostille.
MEA India offers Apostille Services for Japan.

Because Japan joined the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of


Legalization for Foreign Public Documents in 1957. So no required diplomatic
(Japan Embassy/Consulate) legalization/authentication of certificates for Japan for
the legal communication with Japan or another HCCH member of the Hague
convention. The Certificates only need to be stamped with an “apostille” by the

What is the Apostille & details included in the Certificate?

An apostille is a sticker stamp of square shape which itself is a printed form


consisting of 11 standard fields.. On the top is the text APOSTILLE, under which
the text Convention de La Haye du 5 October 1961 (English: Hague Convention of
5 October 1961) is placed. Apostille is an international Certification equivalent to a
Notarisation in domestic law. Apostille agreement is an International pact
summarised by the Hague Conference on Private International Law. It specifies the
modalities through which a document issued in one of the signatory Countries can
be certified for legal purposes in all the other signatory Countries. Such a
certification is called an Apostille (It is a French word, and its meaning is
notarisation). The fields contain the following important information and an
Apostille certificate will be placed on the back side of the document itself.
