Network Termination Unit STU4: Suppor Ting SHDSL - Bis

The STU4 is a network termination unit that transmits broadband Ethernet traffic over multiple copper wire pairs using SHDSL technology. It can bundle up to 4 E1 channels to provide bandwidth of up to 22.8 Mbps for campus networks or 8 Mbps Ethernet leased lines over legacy SDH/TDM networks. The STU4 integrates into the ULAF+ product family and provides efficient bandwidth transmission with high resiliency against link failures.

Network Termination Unit STU4

The STU4 is an Ethernet Network Termination Unit

for the ULAF+ SHDSL product family designed to
transmit broadband traffic over multiple copper
wire-pairs.

The STU4 helps network operators bridging the

existing bandwith gap between E1 and E3/STM1
services by bundling up to 4 E1 channels, over
legacy SDH/TDM networks. In campus back-to-back
applications, the STU4 transmits up to 22,8 Mbit/s.
