1 Introduction

This document is a user manual for LCD menu display for instrument Energy tech 301 which helps to understand and
navigate to menus and sub menus using the unit’s keypad membrane.

1.1 Keypad Membrane


Using the keypad buttons user can access the menus and sub menus. The following buttons are used to do tasks.

- To exit to main screen

- To Select/Apply/Exit

- To Scroll up/Increment

- To Scroll Down/Decrement

1.2 Welcome Screen


The welcome screen displays Codel-FM (manufacturer’s name) and EnergyTech

The system will now enter initialising, this process will last 30 seconds.

Few seconds later the measurement screen appears.

The Instrument has following main menus.

1.4 Measurements
Displays measurement reading. An overview of Measurements sub-menus is shown below.

Press to exit to main screen and press , the following screen appears.

Allows user to select measurement based on units. The following are the submenus.

Displays dust measurement in milligrams per cubic meter.

• Use or to scroll through to mg/m3 and press to select mg/m3. The display returns
to measurement screen displaying mg/m3 measurement.

Displays normalised dust measurement in milligrams per cubic meter.

• Use or to scroll through to mg/Nm3 and press to select mg/Nm3. The display
returns to measurement screen displaying mg/Nm3 measurement.

1.4.1.3 All Channels


Displays normalised dust measurement in milligrams per cubic meter.

• Use or to scroll through to All Channels and press to select. The display returns to
measurement screen displaying which now cycles through all the display channels.

1.4.1.4 Exit
To exit from Select Unit submenu.

• Use or to scroll through to Exit and press to exit. The display returns to
measurement screen.

2 Diagnostics

Allows user to view diagnostic data of instrument and are read only information. An overview of Parameters
submenus is shown below.

Displays instrument running mode. The following are the submenus.

Allows user to access the diagnostic Signal Data at different amplification stages in circuit and it is read only
information. The following are the submenus

Displays analogue signal Raw ADC Count.

• Use or to scroll through to diagnostic Sig Data Submenu.

2.2.1.2 SIG Amplitude


Displays analogue signal amplitude in millivolts before the signal digitisation.

• Use or to scroll through to diagnostic Sig Data Submenu.

2.2.1.3 SIG Range Ratio


Displays SIG Range Ratio which is ratio of signal amplitude to the total voltage range.

• Use or to scroll through to Sig Range Ratio Submenu.

2.2.1.4 SIG DC Offset


Displays an offset added to the signal amplitude.

• Use or to scroll through to Sig DC Offset Submenu.

2.2.1.5 SIG PreAmp Gain


Displays the amount of pre-amp gain added to the Signal.

• Use or to scroll through to Sig pre-amp gain Sub-menu.

2.2.1.6 SIG Amp Gain


Displays the amount of post-amp gain added to the Signal.

• Use or to scroll through to Sig Amp Gain Submenu.

2.2.2 Exit

1.1.1. Press to exit SIG diagnostic data submenu.

2.3 Status Mode


Display the current system status and performance information for the device.

• Device is performing a Bias Current Calibration

• Device is performing a Full Zero Calibration

• Device is performing an Insitu Span Calibration

• Device is in Maintenance Mode

• Device is in Power-Up condition

• Device has no status flags set

• Performance:
• The Detector Retrieve value is below the threshold

• The Detector Retrieve value is in saturation

• The Detector Transmission value is below the threshold

• The Detector Transmission value is in saturation

• A Hardware Gain Error has been detected

• The retrieved signal has been contaminated

• A temperature error has been detected

• The Tolerance level has been exceeded

• Device has no status flags set

• Press to exit to Diagnostics submenu.

2.3.1 Exit
Allows user to exit to main menu.

• Use or to scroll through to Exit and press to exit to main menu.

3 Setup Mode

Setup Mode allows users to Setup instruments. An overview of Setup mode submenus are shown below.

3.1 Zero Cal


Allows user to activate Zero calibration. The following are the submenus.

3.1.1 Full Zero Cal


Allows user to activate Full Zero Cal.

• Use or to scroll through to full Zero Cal.

• Press to activate Full Zero Cal.


The Data valid light shall extinguish, and the user will be returned to the Zero Calibration
Sub-Menu. If the user re-enters the menu “Wait for FZC” shall be displayed. The user
should leave the menu and wait for the data valid light to resume.

3.1.2 Bias Ct Zero Cal


Allows user to activate Bias current Zero Calibration.

• Use or to scroll through to Bias Current Zero calibration.

• Press to activate Bias Current Zero calibration.

3.1.3 FZC Ref Time


Allows users to setup Zero Calibration time. The following are the submenus.

 Set Full Zero Cal.

• Use or to scroll through to FZC Ref Time press .

3.1.3.1 Set Full Zero Cal


Allows users to setup time for Zero Calibration.

• Press to setup FZC Ref Time.

• Use or to increment or decrement most significant digit on hours.

• Press to move cursor to next most significant digit, use or to


increment or decrement.

• Repeat the above procedure to set minutes and seconds, finally press enter to set
FZC Ref Time.

3.1.4 FZC Frequency


Allows users to setup time interval for next Full Zero Calibration time. The following are the
submenus.

3.1.5 Exit
Allows user to exit to main menu.

• Use or to scroll through to Exit and press to exit to Setup mode submenus.

3.2 Span Cal


Allows user to activate Span calibration. The following are the submenus.

Allows users to setup the span calibration target. The following are the submenus.

3.2.1.1 Set Span Cal Target


Allows users to set the span calibration target.

• Press to setup Span calibration target.

• The most significant digit is highlighted use or to Increment or


Decrement.

• Press to move cursor to next digit and finally press to exit Span Target
Setup.

3.2.2 InSitu Span Cal


Allows user to activate Insitu Span calibration.

• Use or to scroll through to Insitu Span calibration.

• Press to activate Insitu Span calibration.


After activation, the user shall be put back to the span menu.

Entering the menu again the user shall see a message explaining the InSitu calibration is in progress.

3.2.3 Exit
Allows user to exit to setup mode submenus.

• Use or to scroll through to Exit and press to exit to Setup mode


submenus.

3.3 Parameters
Displays Communication parameters and Communication protocols. The following are the submenus.

3.3.1 Comms (B, D, P, S)


Displays serial communication parameters and are read only.

B is Baud Rate.
D is Data Bits
P is Parity
S is Stop Bits

• Use or to scroll through Serial Communication parameters.

• In the above screenshot baud rate is 9600, Data bits are 8, Parity is 0 and Stop bits are 1.

• Press to exit communication parameters.

3.3.2 Protocols
Allows user to setup communication protocol. The following are the submenus.

3.3.3 Comms Address


Allows user to setup communication address of instrument. The following are the submenus.

• Use or to Increment or Decrement.

3.3.4 Running Mode


Allows the user to toggle between maintenance mode and normal running mode.

• Use or to scroll through to Running Mode and press to enter the setup
menu.

• Use or to toggle between the maintenance option and the normal running

option and press to confirm the decision.

• When in maintenance mode ‘Mm’ will be displayed to the right of the display
when on the display is showing the first tier of menu (measurements, diagnostics
and Setup Mode)

3.3.5 Exit
Allows user to exit to setup mode submenus.

• Use or to scroll through to Exit and press to exit to Setup mode


submenus.

3.4 Signal
Allows the user to alter how the device handles the incoming and outgoing signals.

Allows the user to configure the signal damping time for the device.

• Press key to set the device damping time.

• Press to enumerate through the menu and finalise the new Damping Time.
3.4.2 Stage 1 Gain
Allows the user to change the preliminary gain.

• Press key to set the Stage 1 Gain.

3.4.3 Stage 2 Gain


Allow the user to change the secondary gain.

• Press key to set the Stage 2 Gain.

• Use or to increment or decrement the gain (0-255).

• Press to enumerate through the menu and finalise the new Gain 2.

Allows user to set up the span range. The following are the submenus.

• Use or to scroll through to Span submenu.

Allows user to set span range.

• Press to access and set up span range sub menu.

• Use or to change the span range.

• Press to move cursor to next most significant digit. Repeat above

procedure to increment and decrement and finally press to set Span
