This week at Ninth District, it was very normal for me.

Nothing really changed as far as

normal tasks such as filing, working on my project, networking with my coworkers, and working

with clients. On Monday, I worked with my supervisor on putting together paperwork for 2

clients. Since these programs require a lot of documents, knowing what paperwork goes in each

file as well as what order they go in is very important. I had a lecture with my supervisor about

how clients can transition from our programs that we enroll them in and into one that lasts

longer. I learned about the rehousing program which is a program that is used for people who go

through the hotel/motel program and who find housing themselves but just need help with the

deposit or the first couple months of rent. On Tuesday and Wednesday, some files from other

counties were brought to the housing office. I filed the files based on year and what program they

were in which made it easy because the folders are color coded. On Thursday, I worked on my

project for a good bit of the day. This project is a very easy and necessary task yet very time

consuming so finding a day here and there to work on it is kind of difficult. Also, on Thursday, a

client and her children came in for a rehousing appointment and I got to sit in on the meeting

which was very interesting to see. I got to see how everything is supposed to work before

COVID times. I saw how conversations are supposed to go in person instead of over the phone. I

also saw the necessary paperwork being signed and put in proper files which gave me a better

feeling for future rehousing appointments. I learned a lot this week about how important it is to

stay on task and to make sure that I am getting done what I need to get done. My coworkers and I

have gotten pretty close and so getting caught in a conversation which happens most of the time

so being sure that I stay on my work is very important. I have made many connections

throughout all levels of Ninth District Opportunity which has made me feel very good about

getting good recommendations and reviews as far as getting a future job.
