Sunanode

SUNANODE is a galvanic anode made of zinc alloy that is connected to reinforcement steel to provide cathodic protection and prevent corrosion. It works by sacrificing itself as the anode in the galvanic series to prevent oxidation of the steel cathode. When attached to rebar, it creates a galvanic cell that protects the steel from corrosion as the zinc alloy anode corrodes instead. SUNANODE has a service life dependent on factors like steel density and chloride levels, and provides maintenance-free corrosion protection to reinforcement steel.
