Assessment

Task No.: 1 & 2

Lesson No.: 4 Module No.: 2

Task 1. Answer the following questions as comprehensively and originally as you can.

1. Think of a technology that has undergone the most amount of

evolution/revision/upgrading that you observe when you were so much younger and is still
being used today. What technology would that be? Explain in detail what
evolution/revision/upgrading such choice has undergone through the years.

The technology that has been undergone the most amount of evolution/revision/upgrading that I
observed when I was younger and still being used today was the cellphone. As far as I remember, I
borrowed a cellphone from my mother which is a keypad type of cellphone. Way back, a keypad
phone was only accessed for messaging and phone call. Unlike today's generation, keypad phone
were upgraded into smartphones, android phones and IOS in which we can access everything like
media, photography, long distance communication, entertainment such as online games, video
games, videos, etc. Not just only the software was upgraded but also the model of the phone, from
keypad to touchscreen and some are air shuffle. We can now personalize our phone by putting
password, facelock and even fingerprints. In that way, we cannot deny the fact that technology
brings easier life to us.

2. Cite three (3) disadvantages of modern/high-end technology and give corresponding

suggestions on how to minimize, if not totally prevent, the experience of the downside of
using such technologies. Mention a specific technology for every suggestion you will have
and include the ethical issues involved.

DISADVANTAGES:
Addiction

It is the most concern issues in today's generation. As I observed, everyone has their own cellphone
even childrens do have. Most of the youth and elders spend too much using cellphone. Some
became addict in online games such as Mobile Legends, some are addict in social media such as
facebook. Addiction is a long way process to cure. In order for them to minimize using cellphone,
they need to discipline their self first. Engage physical activities because it can lower the health
risks of sitting, using and playing for a long period of time.

Technology can waste our time

Too much using technologies like televisions and smartphones can waste our time without realizing
it. The more we focus ourselves from using these technology, the more opportunities were wasted.
For example, we used smartphones to search something but we end up scrolling our newsfeed and
we forgot what really was our intention. In order for us to not waste our time, we should be
responsible in using smartphones or even television. We should set time when to use so that we can
do other activities without wasting a time.

Modern technology can harm our health.

Modern Technology like automobiles on the road produce toxic gases, combined with factories, it
gives risk to our health because it can develop many illness, diseases and conditions. This issues are
hard to solved because the more our world globalized, the more people will use vehicles and
factories. In order for us to be safe from any kinds of diseases that caused by automobiles and
factories, we should avoid places where pollution levels are high and wear mask in crowded places.

3. Seeing yourself as an educator someday (not the student that you are now), how will
technology be changing the education?

As an future educator, technology will create many amazing opportunities for me and make my
teaching and learning more effective. Through technology, I can collaborate with my students in
different online activities in which my students will be interested with these because I can upgrade
my ways of teaching more fun and enjoyable. Technology can also be a tool for me to experiment
with and decide what works best for my students in terms of retaining their knowledge. Lastly,
using technology can be a drive for us (future educator) to enhance lesson plans and assessment in
a convenient ways and time.

4. Are you in favor of a robotic teachers? Why or why not?

Honestly, no. Maybe robotic teacher will make things easier but it will give negative impacts for
both students and human teachers. If we converted to robotic, the teachers worldwide would lose
their jobs and it cannot develop the personal distinctions between the students. It is better to have
human teachers because they are truly the backbone of the society. They make learnings fun, can be
caring and understanding. They are the role models for the youth, provide support and
commitment and give the power to young people.

5. What is the significant role played by robotics in COVID-19 pandemic? Support your
answer by citing specific examples.

The significant role played by robotics in Covid-19 is to replace any humans in their jobs. In today's
situation, it is very harmful to the people to take over tasks because they cannot see their enemies
and it could possibly lead them to death. Through robotics, it gives helps to the doctors in serving
patients from distance and help the isolation cope since the robotics can handle tasks with the best
use of their strength and speed.

6. Do you think technology can fully satisfy human's longing for peace, happiness and
contentment? Why or why not?

It depends on how people viewed the impact of technology , either it gives happiness and
satisfaction or it gives chaotic life. But for me, technology cannot give full satisfaction, peace,
happiness and contentment. It gives lot of disadvantages in our personal life. Technology can
interferes with our mental, emotional, social behavioral processes that contribute to our well-being.
It gives us a fear of missing out or trap us from seeing multiple points of view on any kinds of issues.

Maybe in some areas of technology brings me happines but I cannot guarantee that it is genuine
because for me being truly happy you neither need materialistics things and other people to be
happy. Lastly, to achieve our full potential, training our minds to be more optimistic is important.
Task 2. Search for a movie that tackles a story about a robot with humans emotions. Watch
the movie at your most convenient time. Give a synopsis of the movie which will include a
paragraph or two of your personal comments and reflection. First come first served:
meaning the same movie can be watched only by a group of ten (10) students. Beyond that
number, the next/other group will have to look for another movie of similar theme/content.
Follow the format provided below.

VI. Synopsis:

In the city of San Fransokyo, Hiro Hamada, a 14-year-old boy who was a highschool graduate and a
robotic genius who spends most of his free time participating in robot wars. His parents were gone
and he only live with his brother Tadashi Hamada and his aunt Cass. Tadashi attempts to redirect
the abilities of Hiro into something positive. He brings Hiro to the research laboratory at the San
Fransokyo Institute of Technology, where Hiro meets Tadashi's friends- Go Go, Wasabi, Honey
Lemon, Fred and Baymax- the inflatable healthcare robot developed by Tadashi and Professor
Robert Callaghan, the head of the robotica program at the university. But mysterious accidents
happened and Tadashi was killed by a fire. The only remaining remnants of Tadashi was only
Baymax. Convinced that the death of Tadashi was not accident, Hiro equips Baymax with armor and
battle chip containing various karate moves to seek vengeance together with Tadashi's friend. Upon
seeking the justice for the death of Hiro's late brother, they encounter a man in masks and it turns
out that it was the professor. A professor who also seek revenge because her daughter was lost in a
portal made by the man who is trying to get Hiro to sell him Microbots. Hiro together with Baymax
go through the portal to find his daughter. Baymax has to sacrifife himself for Hiro and the
professor's daughter, and gets lost in the portal. Fortunately, the drive of Baymax was left in Hiro's
hand so he was able to rebuild Baymax.

VII. Reflection

After watching the movie "Big Hero 6", I felt happy at the same time sad. I am happy because the
ending of the story is beautiful, on the other hand, I am sad knowing that the brother of Hiro had
passed away.
This movie teach me lot of lessons in life. First, you should believe in yourself. Don't envy other
people capabilities because everyone are unique. You may not have the things which others do have
but you have some things where other people don't have. Believing in yourself can make everything
possible just like how Hiro proved to the people that he has the abilities and the result were
everyone vowed to him. Second, go out from your comfort zone just like how Hiro entered
university even he don't want to enter because for him San Fransokyo Institute Technology was for
nerd people. Getting outside from your comfort zone will make you to dream big because you can
discover things that you don't know before. It enables you to create impossible things to possible.
Third, show love and care for other people just like how Baymax cares for Hiro and his friends.
Showing love and care may be a little gesture but it can comfort people. It also enable us to
understand the situations of other people. Lastly, be careful in choosing a friend. Choose a friend
who will help you in your hard times, be there for you if you need them and cheers for you in your
darkest hour just like how friends of Tadashi and Hiro treat them. Lot of friends are not necessary,
few friends but true to you are much more important. Quality over quantity.
