NARRATIVE REPORT

Pursuant to the DepEd Memorandum No. 15 s. 2021, entitled Career Guidance

Program for S.Y. 2020-2021, where in, this activity aims to guide the secondary level
students in choosing career tracks that they intended to pursue through informed career
choices towards becoming productive and contributing individuals as stated in RA 10533
otherwise known as the Basic Education Act of 2013. Students also shall have experienced
careers they are aiming that match their interest and develop an individual’s competencies in
self-knowledge, educational exploration and career planning.
In connection with this, amidst of the pandemic that we are facing today, Pangal Sur
High School thru the leadership of EsP Department still successfully conducted an Online
Career Guidance Program for S.Y. 2020-2021 last June 17, 2021 via Online Google Meet as
a part their innovation called – PROJECT MAKIBATA (Makibahagi sa mga Adhikain at
Karapatang nakatutulong para sa Ikabubuti ng bawat BATA). Along with this activity was a
detailed session about Mental Health Awareness, Bullying Awareness and Family Relations
Management.
The said activity was started with a prayer led by Mr. Renato T. Alombro, T-III,
followed by the singing of the National Anthem lead by Mr. Robbie R. Gadut, T-I. After the
singing of the National Anthem, Mr. Celso C. Dumalig – Guidance Counselor, reminded
everyone the proper health protocols to be observed and maintained during the online session.
After that, checking of attendance was administered.
At exactly 1:00 pm, Mr. Celso C. Dumalig, started to discuss the essence of
conducting this so-called Career Guidance Program. He also shared the objectives of this
program. He was able to deliver and imparted the contents of this program to all attendees
specially to Grade-10 students together with their parents with the used of Career Guidance
Video that can be watched or downloaded from the link http://bit.ly/CGVideoDepEdBCD
developed by the Bureau of Curriculum Development in partnership with SEAMEO
Innotech. This video aims to provide information about the Senior High School (SHS) Tracks
and Strands.
One of the objectives of Project MAKIBATA of EsP Department was to help every
student in dealing with some personal circumstances such as mental health illnesses, bullying,
and problem in family relationship. EsP Department conducted also a separated session about
these topics. Mr. Celso C. Dumalig, the Guidance Counselor shared his expertise regarding
on this matter. He discussed about how to deal with mental illnesses especially in this time of
pandemic. He enumerated effective strategies in dealing with mental illnesses like depression
and anxiety. He also discussed about dealing with bullying in all aspects whether it through
physical bullying, mental bullying or even cyber-bullying. And last but not the least, the
family relations. This topic was the most engaging to students because we saw their reactions
while discussing this topic. Mr. Celso shared and explained clearly the importance of having
a good relationship with family. This session was ended successfully we saw on their faces
the happiness that they felt from this session. We assumed that this part was the silverlining
of this program.
After the said activities, Mr. Celso C. Dumalig, Career Guidance Counselor Designate
ended the program with a motivational message to everyone. Special thanks to Mr. Robbie R.
Gadut for being the moderator throughout this online session.
Once again, PSHS has proven that no undertaking is too difficult no matter what
situation we have and success is not hard to achieve if there is a cooperation and everyone
works for the best interest of the school and of the students.
COVID-19 is just a pandemic; Pangal Sur High School is not afraid in any
circumstances because PSHS always believed in its own tagline…
“PANGALagaan Ko, SURe na kinabukasan mo.”
