TENSION WATCH TW200 INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Thank you for purchasing the TAMA Tension Watch. Please read this instruction manual carefully to ensure proper and efficient use. Store this manual in a
convenient place for future reference.

Notes
1. Keep the Tension Watch in its protective packaging to prevent damage when not in use.
2. Hold the Dial Cover whenever using the device. Do NOT hold it by the Position Gauge Ring, as the main unit could separate and fall.
3. Be careful not to drop the Tension Watch. It may cause the unit to function improperly.

Position Gauge Ring: The Tension Watch comes with a Position Gauge Ring which enables you to keep a fixed distance from the hoop/tension rod to
allow you to tune the drum with more consistency and accuracy.
*You can also use the Tension Watch without the Position Gauge Ring, if desired.

PREPARATION BEFORE USE

HOW TO USE
1. Tighten tension rods to roughly tune the drum and keep the head fairly level before using the Tension Watch.

2. Place the drum on a flat surface and put the Tension Watch on the drum head next to each tension rod to get a
reading. (Picture C)
*If you choose not to use the Position Gauge Ring, place the Tension Watch approximately 3/4” away from the edge
of the drum when you read the tension value.

3. Go around the drum and adjust each tension rod to achieve identical tension value across all lugs.
*IMPORTANT: When you tighten a tension rod, make sure that you pick up the Tension Watch and then place it back
on the drum head again to get an accurate reading. Sliding the Tension Watch from one lug to the next will not result
in accurate readings.
*By writing down or memorizing the values, you will be able to easily replicate your desired tuning each time.
