➢ Go to http://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/ and create new user account Login

• Download Landsat 8 OLI Level-1 on save

• After download unzip/uncompress

➢Go to plugins manage and install plugin Select Semi automatic classification
and install

➢Now open Semi Automatic Classification Download Products
➢Click on login data enter login ID and Password (Need login in https://ers.cr.usgs.gov/login/)
➢Click on search clock on + symbol now go to QGIS window left click for UL, right click for UR
➢Now coordinates will appear in UL and UR Products select L8 OLI/TRS Select Date
➢Click on find image list will come select image Click on run give path to save data

Split line feature :
➢ Select line which you want to split using select features by area or single click
➢ Click on split features draw a line where you want to split and right click to complete line
Reshape Line feature:
➢ Select line which you want to split using select features by area or single click
➢ Click on reshape feature draw a line where you want to split and right click to complete line
Note: Drawing line in reshape feature line first point and last point should touch line feature

➢ Go to layer Create Layer New shapefile Layer

Note: Starting point and ending should touch the polygon line

➢ Now Select the polygons which you want to merge press shift key in keyboard and click
on multiple polygons click on Merge selected features.
Reshape polygon:
➢ Select the polygon using select features by area or single click
➢ Click on reshape features Now draw a line the way you want to reshape feature and
right click to complete. That line staring point and ending point should touch the polygon

Adding fields to attribute table:
➢ Click on open attribute table Attribute table window opens Click on New field
➢ Add field window opens Give the field name, type, length Ok
➢ To Delete filed click on Delete field Select filed from delete field window OK

Area calculation:
➢Click on open Field calculator in attribute table window
➢In filed calculator check create a new field Give name, type, length

Area and perimeter or length of line feature calculation:
➢ Click on vector Geometry tools Add Geometry attributes
➢In input layer select polygon feature Run (Calculates area and Perimeter)
➢In input layer select line feature Run (Calculates length of line)
Note: after calculating area and perimeter or length of line it will generate new shape file

If we want give the name to all same class fields at a time:
➢Click on open attribute table
➢Click on select by expression type the expression Click on Select feature
➢Click on modify attributes of all selected features simultaneously enter the name ok

Map composition
➢Go to project New print layout Create print layout window opens give name.

➢print layout window go to Add items Add map Draw a box in print canvas

➢Go to items select map right click –Item properties click on grid
➢Add a new grid select that new grid click on modify grid
➢In appearance click on CRS select WGS84 ok enter the X,Y intervals.
➢Click on frame select frame style line border.

➢Click on draw coordinates go to format select any one


➢Go to font double click on it select font , style and size.

Add Legend
➢Insert legend: Go to add item Add legend Draw a box in print canvas
Now it will show the all layers legend if we need one layer legend, remove other layers from legend.
(First select only one layer in main window)
➢Go to items window select the layer Item properties legend items check only
show items inside current atlas features click on Filter legend by map content.

right click item properties unselect auto update
➢Select the file which we no need and clock on remove

➢Add item Add Scale bar draw a box in map canvas .
➢To change map unites Click on scale bar units and select cm or m or km.
Export Map
➢Go to layout Save project Export as image Give name
➢Image export options window export resolution select 300 dpi or as per requirement
➢Click on save

Layer Export to KML:

➢Select the layer and right click export Save feature as


➢In save feature window in format select KML File name Give the path and file name
save Ok
