Many people say that we have developed into a “throw-away” culture

because we fill our environment with many plastic bags and rubbish
that we cannot fully dispose of. Do you agree or disagree, and what
measures can you recommend to reduce this problem?
It is an irrefutable fact that the world today has become a filthy place to live.
So, I contend that it is primarily due to irrational dumping materials and
excessive use of plastics. This essay will discuss thoroughly along with the
measures to tackle this problem.
To substantiate, I would like to pen down that the modern lifestyle
contributes significantly to the increasing amount of waste and garbage. In
other words, communities have become materialistic and mass-consumption
societies, where they use more and throw away more than ever before. For
example, the packaging of processed and packed food, which is mainly not
decomposable, is disposed of in trash bins. However, the solution lies in
changing our attitude. Instead of throwing packaging, consumers should
recycle it as much as possible.
Secondly, today’s markets are full of cheap, single-use-only things that are
more in demand, such as mineral water bottles and throw-away plates less in
value. All these products end up in the rubbish. Here too, the onus lies with
us. Individuals should carry personal water bottles and endeavour to reduce
the use of plastic objects. Besides, the government can enforce stricter laws
on companies to use biodegradable material.
To put it in a nutshell, although the world is becoming a poorer place to live, if
individuals, businesses, and the government share the responsibility to
address this problem on a war footing, Earth will become uninhabitable.
