Step 1: Read the learning plan. After which think of a way by which you may improve it guided by the
principles of ICT integration in science teaching.
Shake it Off!
Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding of the relationship between faults and earthquakes.
Performance Standard:
1. participate in decision making on where to build structures based on knowledge of the location
of active faults in the community: and
2. make an emergency plan and prepare an emergency kit for use at home and in school.
This first part of the learning plan focuses on earthquakes and faults. It discusses how an
earthquake happens. This is good for five (5) days.
First, you have to emphasize the details of the main project which is to make a creative
animation regarding what to do before, during, and after an earthquake. Provide the necessary
instructions and rubrics to be used in evaluating their group output.
The students will first do an activity "A Fault-y Set-up" to learn the different types of faults.
Then other activities will be given, "Stick 'n' Sip and Sick 'n' Shake". These, on the other hand, will
show how the movement of faults generates an earthquake. The activity, "Where Does an
Earthquake Start?" will help students understand the anatomy of an earthquake. They will also create
a fault model using indigenous materials.
Hands-on activities are very important in discussing science concepts. When you let your
students do the activities, they are able to develop their critical thinking skills and problem-solving
skills.
Step 2: Guided by the standards and the principles of ICT integration and lesson planning principles
taught in your previous classes, develop the daily objectives of this learning plan.
