Nus Application Guide Cat D
FOR INTERNATIONAL
STUDENTS
ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-2022
How to apply:
Check here to submit an application. You would be required to fill in the following
information:
Personal Particulars
o For verification purpose, it is important that you fill in your personal information
accurately.
o Key in your full name and nationality as per your Passport or Birth Certificate. This
will facilitate your student pass application if your application to NUS is successful.
o You may leave the passport number field empty if you do not have a passport at the
point of application.
Contact Information
Provide a valid email address in order for the University to contact you when necessary.
Academic Qualification
o High School Education
If you are sitting for your national or official Year 12 examination in the same year of
application and will receive your results only after the application deadline, you should
key in your Year 11 results. In addition, you should select “I will be completing the high
school final examination after application closing date”.
If you have completed your national or official Year 12 examination by the application
deadline, key in your actual results and select “I have completed the high school final
examination”.
o Additional results
You may key in any additional test scores that you have. Otherwise, you can leave this
section empty.
• MUET – key in the numerical grade (e.g. 221) and not the band.
• Cambridge English – key in the overall score (e.g. 190) and not the grade.
• TOEFL – key in the total score from a single test date. NUS accepts TOEFL iBT
Special Home edition scores and TOEFL iBT scores from a single test date, not
MyBest scores.
• IELTS – key in the scores obtained for writing, reading and overall components.
NUS does not accept IELTS indicator score.
• PTE Academic – key in the scores obtained for writing, reading and overall
components.

• SAT – key in the scores obtained for Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and
Mathematics components.
• SAT Subject Tests – key in the subject test that you have taken and the
corresponding scores obtained.
• AP – key in the month and year of your most recent AP exam.
However, if you are current student of any other university or tertiary institution, please
click ‘Yes’ and provide us with your university academic results.
o Other activities
You may want to share activities that you have participated in at the international or
national level.
o Personal statement
You are encouraged to summarise instead of writing a prolonged essay.
You may wish to prepare your written submission separately prior to submitting your
application.
Choice of Courses
o You can apply for a maximum of five single degree programmes (Part a), and another
five for Double Degree, Concurrent Degree, Double Major and Minor programmes
(Part b).
o You are advised to rank your choices in the order of your preference.

A contact person in case of an emergency.

Personal Identification Number (PIN)
o You would need to create an 8-digit PIN, which must contain both alphabet(s) and
number(s). Please note that your PIN is case sensitive.
o This would allow you to log in to the Online Application Status Facility (OASF) so you
can track your application status and submit supporting documents.
Application Fee
The S$20 application fee can be paid through Credit Card or Bank Draft/Cheque.
Financial Aid
Do indicate if you intend to apply for financial aid. You will need to submit a separate
online application for it here.
Other information
Please indicate if you have been convicted in court or military court (court martial) for
any offence in any country, suspended or expelled from an educational institution or
terminated from your employment for any reason, or are there any court or disciplinary
proceedings pending against you in any country.
Tuition Grant
You are required to declare and/or apply for Tuition Grant.
If your application for the Tuition Grant is successful and you have accepted it, you will
pay subsidised fees, and are required to work for a Singapore entity for three years upon
graduation.
If you are not successful, or have chosen not to apply for the Tuition Grant, you will pay
non-subsidised fees. You will also not be eligible for NUS and MOE funded or
administered Financial Aid and Scholarships during your entire course candidature.

• Upload a clear set of supporting documents via Online Application
Status Facility (OASF). Please refer to the checklist on the
documents required by the application deadline.
• Only complete applications* will be processed for admissions
consideration.
